I've got a feeling the tickets might not fly out the ticket office for this match.

I had that feeling last week when i found out the prices. Especially with it being live on the TV on a Sunday.

So non season ticket holders are £22. That's a ridiculous price. Why not make it £15 for all adults.
It's on BBC a lot of folk will say fuck that and watch it in the hoose.
I wonder if utd went to hibs with a lower price and hibs refused or united went straight in with these prices.

Looking at the online ticket page the sales for Utd are terrible so far.

It's not against Dundee therefore the 'Get it up the Bluenoses' daytrippers are not interested.

Early days and a terrible time of the year, folk skint after xmas, New Year and won't get paid till end of month.

Plus it's a Sunday and it's on TV.
Bit of time to go though, wouldn't be surprised if there's a no bad turnout a week on Sunday.
Got mine today and looking forward to see how we get on against a top flight club (and season's end I suspect a top six club)

Same folk that are all over Facebook and Twitter clamouring for season ticket vouchers for playoff finals etc. It’s not a problem that’s unique to us but rubs me up the wrong way that they disappear after coming out on the 27th.

Hibs end sold out 3100 tickets
We are sitting at 4000ish at the moment for home end.

I'd sooner have the 'Get it up the Bluenoses' daytrippers than not have them.

Agreed but that’s the point LOA is making. When they think we can stick it to the dee’s they are clamouring for tickets and claiming they are diehards. Now they can’t be found for love nor money and are coming out with every excuse under the sun. I can see why it rubs folk the wrong way when suddenly they are demanding tickets for limited games like away derbies, playoff finals etc. Just wish we could a 5-figure crowd for every home game.

Not ever 5 figure every game but not far off it. The fans have proved in recent times they are out there and turn up in numbers in other games. Would be great to be having 8/9k at every home game.
With the rather poor turnout from Utd for this cup game there are several factors that have come into it for this Sunday sadly.

Pricing of this games ridiculous
Games in January, folk are skint. Understandable.
Opening the shed. Crazy.
Live on council TV disnae help.
Did Mal just fire in and think we'd have 10000?
However I'd still expect us to have sold approx 6000 by now.

When I saw the crowd in the Shed for the Derby match, I can mind folk roond about me saying "Whar are they every at ah the other gehns?". I include mysell in that train of thought.
However I agree the January thing is definitely part oe it. Feeling the pinch in oor hoose.
Anyone got a solution for banning 'day trippers'?
Some of them will be your mates, why not speak to them & encourage them to come more often instead of condemning them?
And cut the admin some slack. Damned if they do & damned if they don't.
Opening the Shed? Crazy. Not opening the Shed? Missed opportunity.
And yeah, January is a hard month financially but the 4th round of the Scottish Cup has forever been played in January. Many fans can't afford it but we can't ask the SFA to put it back til we're flush again. Go if you can, watch it on TV if you can't.
And maybe some of the 'day trippers' could be encouraged. They'll be well enough off with only spending money on a handful of games.
I'd love five figure gates too & the truth is it is heading in that direction so let's be happy.
And bring on the Hi-bees

I’d just like to know who agreed what with the prices. I’d like to think we wanted a lower price but I’m not sure that’s the case. I'm equally not sure if lower prices would have equated to a bigger crowd either.

I think what you have written underlines a problem to which the club appears to be blind.
The Scottish Cup used to be a huge attraction for fans, and an away day is still relished by many, but the 4th Round has not been forever played in January. Only a few years ago it was being played in November and December. But I get the point: the Scottish Cup has in the past been appealing for supporters at this time of year.
An issue now is the January game not being played on a Saturday at 3pm. It's a turn off for some/many fans that they have a to alter a routine for the sake of television companies, then pay what they see as an excessive price if they wish to attend. Two rounds later last season (Quarter Final) for a televised Sunday game at Tannadice the prices in advance were £15 and £5. The crowd was 7274, around 7000 being United fans. Cheaper price, later round, Sunday match too.

To the problem I mentioned at the start, to which the club appears to lack awareness: next season, there will be many more games shifted to Sundays and Noon on Saturday at Tannadice. Previously I've spoken to a present director on this, who looked at me as though I was mad (which may well be the case). Games being shifted from what a regular supporter/season ticket holder may plan for at the outset of the campaign is, to put it mildly, an inconvenience. At the other extreme, it will be the difference between some fans getting a season ticket or not.
Days and kick off times being changed for television cannot in any way be seen as helpful to supporters who would normally attend. An example: I've suggested in the past, in writing and directly to the club, that they think about issuing season tickets for matches not including Celtic and the Tribute Act. For some reason, the club then, and probably Mal Brannigan and whoever else is included in the decision making now, appear to believe supporters crave matches against these pair, no matter when they are played. They don't.
Summing up: football clubs have got to address the issue of entry pricing when games are scheduled for television coverage.

Pricing full stop Pat. Have you seen some of the prices being charged in the premier league?
I'll also wager that there will be a big jump in our season ticket prices and potp(pay on the phone) prices next season.
