Who was the first player we lost on a Bosman?

That we wanted to keep?

Was it Brewster?

Re: Who was the first player we lost on a Bosman?

Why he shouldn't be going through in the comp TEK.

I don't have a problem that he wanted to try abroad tbh mate.

Plus We replaced him with Olofsson, who was IMO even better.

Re: Who was the first player we lost on a Bosman?

I don't either. I dont really have a huge problem with players leaving on Bosman, but I always felt Brewster was eyeing up a move virtually from when we won the cup though. After we got relegated, he was quoted as saying he signed a 1 year contract with us because no-one else came in for him. He's still a hero, but for someone who was a diehard arab, he was a bit too quick to take a move when it came up.

Deffo agree about Olofsson, superb.

Re: Who was the first player we lost on a Bosman?

BRewster I can 100% guarantee you did not leave through choice.
Kirkwood made it clear to BRewster that his own signings of Coyle and McSwegan would be first choice ahead of himr
In addition to this the contract offered to him was 7k per annum less than that of his previous deal.
IF any of you care to check he only signed for Ionikos days before our season re started.
The reason he ended up in Greece was pure chance and not engineered by the player
Any player angling to get away from a club would at the very least have an agent or agents trying to broker a move
BRewster did not have an agent
IT was KIrkwoods fault he left, and imo he would have got better and better had he been allowed to stay

In my time, losing Swanno and CC really got to me.

Swanson was never offered a new deal was he?

Him and Houston hated each other by the end.
