Keiron Freeman - Sheff Utd Defender
2 Americans - 1 is Dillon Powers
We also had others on trial. Hopefully there is 2/3 players of good quality in there. Asghar also said we were looking to the summer so we may see some pre contracts. Alan Forrest has been rumoured.

The boy who was at us and then went to Southampton is no longer with Southampton, surely be him !
Anyway hopefully there is a gem in the boys who are on trial, hate not knowing who is on trial, love a nosey to see how good they are on YouTube

Rumours of Johnny Russell.

Think United just mistakenly reposted the article about him coming out on the pitch before the game. The boy’s on over a million dollars a year over there, no chance he’s coming back for Gayfield and Greenock anytime soon.

Aye, when I heard this name I immediately thought it must be Kieran Freeman rather than Kieron Freeman? The latter would surely be out of our price range?
I mind when Freeman signed for Southampton, was being touted as a “wonder kid” etc. No surprise to see he’s been lost in the academy system down there. No doubt we’ll be saying the same about Banks in a few years time?

The only way possible would be a short term loan as is sometimes the norm with MLS players, I would have went for Zlatan personally.
Good rumour though.

I am sure I read somewhere that the lad has just been very unlucky with injuries, couple of really bad ones have set him back.
At his age he is worth a punt though Mark Wilson had a few bad ones and turned out not a bad player.

Yep, and you can discount most of the other things people have 'heard' too. But it's fun to speculate.

Scott Sinclair, 6 month loan.
Silly season is indeed, upon us...Not a chance in Hell.
He'll be on about 20 grand a week.
He's going to Preston NE.

I'd be ok with this in this window.
But not until we have a player or two in and our injury problems settle down a bit.
As it is Butcher, Connolly, Robson, Harkes, Stanton and Pawlett are all carrying knocks to varying degrees and we had 3 kids on the bench in our last 2/3 games.

What we need for this season going into the premiership:
Back up RB for Liam Smith
Back up LB for Jamie Robson
Good young CB
Defensive midfielder to push Butcher
Box to box midfielder to drive the team
Creative player that can supply Shankland, Appere and Clark
Winger to fight for a place with McMullan, Sporle, Chalmers
Would like to sign Alan Forrest and Daniel Harvie from Ayr, for this window.

Neilson saying he’s pleased with Powers & Freeman. A bounce game tonight, I think, and a decision to be made by the end of the week.

Bounce game is at Ochilview, 7.15.

Hopefully the weather calms down a bit before this evening or that game will be a farce.

Wind going to get a bit stronger, but rain dying away later.

Went to Ochilview, interesting enough but not so much that I stayed to the end.
There seemed to be quite a few foreign trialists, and several of their family members were in attendance too.
From what I could tell, Stenhousemuir only had two regulars playing, as there was a team sheet given out to their directors, only with the Warriors players' names.
United fielded Deniz in goals, who had little to do in the first half but made several good one on one stops later in the second.
I reckon it was Keiran Freeman at right back, very tidy player who was vocal with encouragement throughout: only he didn't seem to know all the names!
Of the central defenders, number four who seemed to be getting called 'Ty' looked sold and steady. Here are the back four, with a midfielder who may have been called 'Paul' in shot too: As an aside, there was no sign of Dillon Powers on the park. The other two lads (3 & 6) on the left side of the four were young lads, as was a subbie, possibly Ross Graham, Jake Davidson and Nathan Cooney.
Midfielders looked tidy enough, but difficult to judge as it was unknowns v unknowns. However, a lad 'Rocco' on the right seemed to struggle and was subbied (as were others), perhaps an indication that he and we will have to try elsewhere:
Surprisingly, Osman Sow started up front but never seemed to get into the speed of the game, and was replaced at ht by Logan Chalmers. Chris Mochrie also came on as did another young player whose name escapes me.
Another couple of foreign lads looked able without standing out to me.
However, the number 10, who scored the only goal that I saw as I left around 80 minutes in, did impress me: he has the blue boots on in this poorer picture following his goal (Osman Sow is probably the only recognisable face to most here):
Robbie Neilson and Gordon Forrest watched on, as did Tony Asghar, and folk who I reckon were family associates of the trialists sat in proximity. I got a word with the Director of Football, strictly on informal terms. He's a good guy.
On the Warriors side, I was told that they were only aware of the first names of United players: whether they are given a rough team line, I don't know.
PS: for some reason I thought the number 10, who was very skilful and covered every blade of plastic, was maybe called 'Gordon'.

Good report.
Well done....
The striker facing the camera has a whiff of graham dorrans - could you imagine!!!
