Great name.
Sounds like a Super Hero's alter-ego.

Looking into his background I find it hard to make a calculated impression of players & teams in the MLS. Maybe Chainmail can help with a better gauge than us googling.
After 3 years & 78 games at Notre Dam Fighting Irish college team he's played for Colorado Rapids & Orlando City who currently have ex Sporting CP, Man U, Fenerbahce & Lazio striker Nani on their "roster".
Again a player we (supposedly) are trialing has experience at youth International level(u18s x 3 plus u20s x 15), some awards & and acclamations when young ( like Harkes) which is a re occuring theme recently, especially the youth International status.
This lads had his 2020 contract declined but hard to know why as these MLS teams seem to have a rare mix of up and comming American talent through to big name winding down players from Europe and South Amarica.
Hope Chanmail can offer a more enlightened & real opinion as I find MLS hard to gauge.
No sure how they bring in or swap players either at transfer times. Bound to be very different from oor system.

'Dillon Powers': he can boot the ball off his own face.

Not a rumour just a point and it's a bit of criticism.
It has been clear to anyone attending our games that the weak link in our team has been the left midfield berth, for me we should have had someone lined up yesterday to fill this void.
The lad Forrest from Ayr looked decent against us and would be decent addition.

Harkes out with a broken cheekbone so hopefully someone in to replace.

Sure I read there’s 2 on trial, no word of who it is???

Just seen a Twitter rumour - Thomas O'Brien fae Arbroath...
Saw O'Brien (and Little) y'day at Gayfield and good as they both are (probably having their best ever season too) they are aged 28 & 30 and neither has played at a higher level than they currently are. I couldn't see them prospering in the top six of the Prem which is what we're aiming for I guess.

We’ve had plenty of players from lower league clubs that have more than held their own in the top flight.

I'm pals with a couple Orlando City fans, have a soft spot for them since they played in the league before the MLS. I asked one of them on twitter about powers, he said he was 'practically invisible'. Another fan left the more constructive remark of saying he never really had a run of games to prove himself.
I remember looking at DC United pages for Harkes when we signed him and their fans also seemed to be happy for him to leave but many thought he had potential. The problem with the MLS is they are more likely to play the 'designated players', those outwith the salary cap and usually the 'big' names, over local talent, even if the locals play better. All to do with selling shirts and merchandise over there.
Hopefully Powers, like Harkes, is decent but just got screwed by the MLS system.

Out - Cammy Smith, Troy Brown, Sow, possibly Matty Smith, Logan Chalmers and Sam Wardrop out on loan.
In - Glass (back from loan), Dillon Powers (centre mid) and Keiron Freeman (centre half from Sheff Utd on trial, hearing rumours Greg Docherty could be signing.

Are you sure you have the right 'Freeman'? I thought it would be young Keiran Freeman back training with us, as he's just been released.
The Sheffield United Freeman (who isn't a centre half) will surely be looking for a club down south where he's played his whole career..

8 players on trial today seemingly.
At least 2 of them African apparently.
One of the trialists is the aforementioned Dillon Powers.

I'd say it's almost impossible: he wouldn't have been on trial with us then turn out for the Blades yesterday. Chris Wilder is far too professional to take a risk like that with a player still contracted to the Bramall Lane club.

I've heard it is the Sheff Utd defender.

A lad that is good enough to play for a premiership team in the Cup and is regularly in the match day squad wouldn't need to come up here on trial for a Championship team in Scotland surely? Must be a mix up with our former youngster.

The boy that played yesterday for Sheffield United was Luke Freeman but they also have a Kieran Freeman on their books as well so could be him.
Edit to say I’m talking nonsense both Freemans played. Apologies folks

Too many Freemans! Just checked and it is the Luke version that has been on the bench recently. Even so the lad has played for Wales in the not too distant. A trial at United is a bit of a come down...
Doesn't look like he has played this season so maybe a trial is in order...
