Dundee Utd v Dundee 27/12/2019

3rd Dundee derby of the season under the lights at Tannadice on Friday.
A bumper home crowd as we have sold out the shed dode fox and east stand along with 2 sections of the Jerry Kerr and onto our 3rd in there. Sure to be some atmosphere some effort from the fans again.

I would keep the line up as it was on Saturday against Ayr. Appere on from the bench mid 2nd half.

Even though we shouldn't be, I'll bet a lot of our fans are shitting it about Friday.

I wouldn’t say I was bricking it, not yet anyway.

I am looking forward to it though, and we are ‘due a defeat’ so maybe this’ll be it. I obviously really hope not..

Re: Dundee Utd v Dundee 27/12/2019

Good win for them at Thistle - I think that will be a dificult place to go and come back with 3 points the rest of the season.  But it is the same defence that we have put 8 past already this season and we should have the tools to unlock it.  Could be a classic - I'm going for a late winner in a 3-2 United victory.

Same.

I never look forward to them and the prospect of defeat means i feel nothing but dread in the lead-up to them.

For 39 year of watching Dundee derbies I'm the same. 1st time my now wife witnessed me watching one (on tv) she ordered me a McGurk kick bag tae hang fae the ceiling to channel and deal with the aggression & stress.

For whatever reason I'm not so stressed about this one.

Could be the lead we have or the form we are in. Might well be back to the norm on matchday.

I will celebrate a win on Friday like an emotional madman though. Especially having 2 wee Arabs in the East Stand with me who've had season tickets for the last 3 years and go to maist away games. Any Arabs that take kids will understand the pressure is very different when you take yer bairns tae the fitba.

Hope you all have a magic xmas and an even better 27th. 💛

There will be a flag display in the East, West and George Fox stands prior to tomorrow's game against Dundee. Please arrive early to help show the full effect of this.

Nerves are starting to kick in,can't wait for this one.

I wonder if his will put Louis back in from the start, for me we are a better team with him on the pitch but it would be very hard on anyone to be dropped.

As tough as it is on Stanton I would drop him to the bench.

Re: Dundee Utd v Dundee 27/12/2019

It was a great bit oe play by Appere and a great finish by Clark for our goal.

Was in the pisshoose when they b@stards scored, so somedy will have to enlighten me how that happened. And BTW what that wee crook McGowan get up tae at the coarner flag? Didna see well enough to see what the sh1tebag did. But was glad to see him getting pelters fae abody in the GF lower for his gobsh1te.

Sometimes we dinna seem to show ourselves as great attacking force and tonight was 1 of these occasions. Build up was too slow when playing from the back, and it was'na long inta the game before ye could see the long balls to Shanks were'na working. He had 2 defenders on him every time he had the ba played to him, and even when he won it, there was nae chunt else there to help. Still they persisted with this right to the end.

There was a couple of occasions, well opportunities, we didna take advantage of, the 1 obvious one being when Harkes shoulda scored when he was thru on the keeper.

Disappointed if I'm honest. We didna play our best the night, but despite that FTD anyhow.

Oh before I forget, credit to the fowk involved in getting these flag displays arranged. The banner in the Shed was absolutely top class.

Re: Dundee Utd v Dundee 27/12/2019

We were poor. As we have been for about a month now.

Look at our bench tonight. Had two 16/17 year olds on it,making up the numbers.

Fucking nonsense.

We need a couple of attacking options. The squad is threadbare.

Agreed. On the plus side, the funsters are all over twitter etc treating this as a win if you can believe that. Meekings actually came out with "It was good to give the fans something to cheer about." That's how far ahead we are.

Re: Dundee Utd v Dundee 27/12/2019

That's mental. The only time I'd be that happy drawing a derby is if it meant them going down, losing a league. It sums up everything about being an Arab and being a bluenose.

Re: Dundee Utd v Dundee 27/12/2019

We were really pish last night, particularly 2nd half.  They were first to every ball and had the lions share of possession.

BUT

I still never felt like we’d lose the game.  Other than when the ginger boy up front for them missed that chance, Benji didn’t have any other real saves to make.  Harkes puts that chance away just before half time and the game was buried.

We’ll be at least 11 points clear at full time this evening, two tough way games on the horizon but we’ve shown we are a different team now.  Onwards.

Special mention to the FUNSTERS in the Jim McLean lower last night, looked like a holding pen for the Jeremy Kyle show, absolute clowns.

Very Special mention to the display boys - it looked fantastic.

Re: Dundee Utd v Dundee 27/12/2019

Great goal to start the gehm off nicely. No too bad in the first half overall I suppose.

Very poor in the second. However 14 clear at the top.  17 points and plus 28 goals on the Fun . No too bad at all.

PS scummy behaviour from the Derry W8nkers throwing coins etc at our players and grabbing hold of Robson at one point. This is becoming more and more apparent with them. United should call them out on this or it becomes more acceptable to behave like that.

Re: Dundee Utd v Dundee 27/12/2019

One of the worst performances this year, too many players not a the races, seeing how much it meant to Dundee shows how far ahead we are of them (in more ways than one)
