Hearts - Can they be relegated?

They are reminding me a bit of us in 2015.

Too big a team to go down, too big a support, too big a stadium, too many good players blah de blah de blah.

They have won 2 games out of eighteen. Lost 10. And have only scored 16 goals in 18 games (conceded 30).

They have sacked a Manager (Levein), took too long to persevere with a Caretaker (McCann) and have now appointed a (frankly) leftfield foreign appointment.

It may work, and given a transfer window and time Daniel Stendel may, indeed, prove a shrewd appointment.

But I think he is gonna be a disaster. And Ann Budge has/is losing the plot.

They may indeed go down.

If we are to go up though I really, really hope its accies that drop down. Horrible ground, horrible team and a horrible town.

Re: Hearts - Can they be relegated?

Yes they absolute could.  I've got a really good source at Tynecastle - there are a lot of unhappy players and staff there at the moment.  Lots of players that CL signed on lucrative contracts who they would probably like to move on in January but getting rid of them might not be that easy.

Not sure what to make of Stendel - he turned up to his unveiling looking like he just finished a night-shift.  He's either a mad genius or a fraud who had one good season at Barnsley.

I believe ownership of the club will pass over to the Foundation of Hearts in February so interesting times ahead for that club.

Agree with Tek - totally remind me of us in 2015/2016 season.

Re: Hearts - Can they be relegated?

Hope they stay up if we are promoted, for obvious 'day out' reasons.

Watched Stendel being interviewed and he brought Csaba to mind, right away. It's a gamble for them.

He just came off the training ground before his unveiling I believe hence the shabby look.

Re: Hearts - Can they be relegated?

Media will probably hope they do drop in order for them to pedal their usual trope that bringing in Johnny Foreigner will have been wrong and how Messrs McCann or Hughes would’ve had them flying up the league despite how useless they are.

For what it’s worth, I like his style and his tactical setup but he may struggle to turn Hearts around until he gets in his own squad because they really don’t suit a high press at the moment. Showed signs of improvement last night though.

Who the fuck scouted that squad?

So much truth in posts above especially regarding being too good tae go doon.

I think most supporters would like to see Hamilton or Livi go down due to the plastic pitches and lack of fans/atmosphere, and decent pubs nearby both grounds.

Personally I have a wee bit of sympathy for Accies. That they can only fill half a stand of their own supporters these days (due to Old Firm gloryhunters) is rather sad imo.

My old man used to take me to New Douglas Park regulary when Utd played their in the 80's and Accies never had a big support but there would normally be at least 4,000 there. They get nowhere near that now. Probably lucky if they take 1,000 home fans these days.

My Son has played at their ground also for his team and I have to say the boys were treated well by the club.

If they drop I think they could turn into another Clyde tbh i.e. just a team who linger about from Divisions 2-4 for many many years and have a hardcore support of about only 5-600.

I admire the supporters who avoid going in to support the big clubs in the city, but Accies the club I've not much time for. Both they and Livi have had dubious funding being put through the books for a number of years (allegedly ) and if they were playing in a country which regulated the game properly they would probably be competing further down the system. But in Scotland the important issue for the authorities is to avoid open scrutiny, so major violations are kept under wraps.

Re: Hearts - Can they be relegated?

That was a terrible and potentially crucial loss for them today. To lose to Accies who hadn't won themselves since September.

Well, it's relegation material.

Re: Hearts - Can they be relegated?

Could be 6 points adrift in a couple of hours.

Just had a wee browse through Jambo Kickback there - looks like every United forum during our relegation season and subsequent couple of seasons in the Championship - fans at each other’s throats and their players/management/owners getting dogs abuse.

Re: Hearts - Can they be relegated?

Daniel Stendel the first hearts Manager in their history to lose his first 4 games in charge.

It's also the first time Hibs have beaten Hearts at Tynecastle 'back to back' since the 70's.

They are in deep shit. Now gambling on Stendel pulling 'rabbits out of hats' in the January transfer window'.

Wonder what Messers Demel, Kawashima and Sinama -Pongolle are upto?

Re: Hearts - Can they be relegated?

After a great result against the Rangers i thought they would kick on and be ok, but a draw and a defeat since and they're bottom again.

They are definitely gonna be in trouble as it's hard to see them putting a run together. They are far too inconsistent and soft at the back.

Their Rangers result was like when we fucked Killie 5-1 in Jan 2016. I left the Shed that day thinking 'aye we've got work to do, but we'll be fine'.

We weren't.

And again. Great results in knocking Rangers out the Cup and then beating Hibs away.

But since only drawing with Motherwell at home and then losing a 6 pointer tonight away to St.Mirren.

They simply don't look like being able to put a run of 3 or 4 wins together. Which they will need to do very soon if they are gonna escape relegation.
