These past 4 games have badly exposed the biggest hole in our team, that being the centre of the park. It’s been our biggest issue ever since Fraser Fyvie done his knee, and we’ve done nothing in the near two years since then to address it.
We badly need a proper general in there, one who demands the ball and can get it forward quickly and with purpose. Once it became clear that Fyvie was done as a player at this level, we should’ve been identifying players who can do this job for us, instead we get Adam phucking King, every bit as soft, half-hearted and shite as his brother, on a 3-year deal no less.
We needed an undisputed first choice in there, and we got a boy who’s not even good enough to be a squad filler. This for me, is the main reason we’re not romping this league, and until we sort it out, performances like the previous four will continue to happen.
I notice that Youssouf Mulumbu is still without a club. The way he controlled games was a major factor in Kilmarnock’s resurgence under Steve Clarke. Going out and getting a player like that would be the difference between having the league wrapped up by Easter and nail-biting final day finish.

Can't argue with that ^^^^^^
It's obvious we need a player who demands the ball from defenders into midfield and moves it forward, rather than the guys we've got who are tidy enough footballers but very much of the same type.

Mulumbu would be most excellent assuming halffit

I’m not quite sure we could afford mulumbu especially with Aberdeen looking at him however I think we might have a player already ready and waiting, Declan glass! If we could I’d get him recalled this instance, always shows for the ball, good passer, scores goals!
I’m hoping for the same impact in January as the boy had at Motherwell hastie, really turned there season round playing excellent football!

A 3.8 million operating loss tells me it might need to be Declan Glass we pin our hopes on.

I have no issue with that. Get the boy back 1 Jan. Meantime get Banks in

You obviously never went to any of the pre-season games

He wasnae that impressive in the daft cup games. I'd still like tae see him play but crave Declan Glass in comparison.
It's a bit of a no brainer when we have injuries and a creative midfielder that can chip in with goals especially fae far out.
If he didn't have an instant improvement I'd be surprised but still stick with him.
Teams find it so much easier with tactics when we don't have a good player doing that job.
He seems more headstrong/mature than maist his age so less worried about stunting his progression risking chucking him in.

I canna stand hearing some of these recent rumours aboot some of the players being boisterous, headstrong etc, wanting to leave, falling oot we the Manager, no getting a gehm.
Its phuckin irrelevant in the grand scheme oe things.
The players and the Manager and the Coaching staff, (and every chunt) are employees oe the Club, they're getting payed FFS. Do we want promotion or no?
If the Chairman is serious aboot getting us promotion, he should be bangin phuckin haeds the gither.

He's not kicked a Ball at any level in weeks so nowhere near match fit, His head will be all over the place with the conflict him and his agent is having with the club so I think we can forget about Banks being involved with the first team. I think its very sad that a boy of 18 has been so poorly advises that he risks not having a career before it even started.

Arabnophobia's referring to Glass, I think, Dufc2016.

Agree 100%
This situation reeks of Scott Allan all over again. I.e. a young man who in the interests of his own career and development should be looking to play 100-150 1st team games for United before he even thinks of going anywhere let alone to England, where he will doubtless get swallowed up in their vast conveyer belt of players.
Look at Kieran Freeman also. Boy left Utd for Southampton, what? 3,4 years ago now?
Have heard nothing of him.

No.
Banks has Raymond Sparkes apparently.
And Allan had John Viola.
Sparkes was previously banned from dealing with Utd regards his unprofessionalism and handling of one of our players in regards giving terrible career advice and demanding more money etc etc.
This was back in Eddie Thompson's era.

Ali Coote as well, spent the last 3 years languishing in Brentford’s reserves, out of contract next summer. I’m sure his bank account will not be hurting, but what sort of damage has he done to himself by not getting any gametime at such a vital time in his career. Be interesting to see where ends up after he leaves Brentford.
Can’t think of many instances where boys have went down to these academies and been a success. Billy Gilmour possibly the only one, and by all accounts the boy’s that good that he was never not gonna be a success wherever he went.
Most Scottish players who go on to have success in England learn their trade playing first team football up here instead of in these insulated academies, McGinn, McLean, Robertson, Tierney and Armstrong all played probably 400 SPL games between them before they got their big moves.
I just don’t understand Banks’ rush to get away. His agent should be telling him to get 100 games for us, if he’s good enough, he’ll get his move in time, and he’ll be much more ready for it than if he goes now.

That's nonsense. How is the agent going to be able to afford his new sports car now? I don't think Porsche have a policy of payment in three years time.

Bournemouth were League One when he joined them, very different to going to an established Premier League side.
