Lawrence Shankland on 17 goals for Utd by Halloween.
Next top scorer after him?
Callum Butcher with 3 goals. Two of which he scored in the same match (the 6-2 Derby), he'd scored all his goals by August.
If he were to get injured before January i honestly fear for us. Where are the goals gonna come from?
It'd be like when Billy Dodds went to Rangers.

Way worse skewed than Dodds. Shankland leaves Jan we are totally screwed atm. About time Clark McMullen Sick note Pawlett and Louis started scoring a few. Absolutely no sign of goals from midfield other than Butcher.
So yes we are pretty much a one man team
. And should be looking to get more ball to him

Many of us said this in the summer/start of season.. We could see it a mile off.
We are light as fuck and some players are simply not good enough either.

I’d say a 2 man team, i think u take butcher out we’re equally as fucked, missed him terribly in midfield last night and if he wasn’t at the back we’d have struggled

Shankland and butcher very much the main men just now and we are certainly set up to let him score but in most cases, shankland didnt get the ball from nowhere and skin 10 boys then score - somebody played him in, crossed it, set it up etc.
For instance, the ball for shankland last night was brilliant. Without the weight/height/direction of the pass, hes not scoring it.
Be interesting to see the assist charts

You win as a team and you lose as a team.

I agree with the sentiment.
But if we lose Lawrence Shankland to injury or suspension for any length of time and i don't think we will be winning many 'as a team'.
That we are so heavily reliant on one man for goals is a big concern for me.

It was a great ball in from Louis.
But say Shankland is out the team and that same ball is whipped in. Who else is finishing off the move with that quality of a header?
We are in desperate need of another Striker in January imo.

First season down was Murray (19) & Andreu (18)
the drop off was then to Mikkelsen (8) Fraser (6)
Second season McDonald (16)
drop off McMullan (9) King (8)
Last season Clark & Safranko (both 15)
drop off - McMullan (7)

Nicky Clark or Appere need to be getting in on it now. If one of them could get 12/14 goals it’d make all the difference.
Double figures from McMullan would be great.

But likely they will both be stuck further wide with the formation which will make any decent goalscoring more difficult......dare I say, the formation makes shankland look even better/makes his value look higher?

We need to solve this problem by the time we play QOTS at home in a couple of weeks as Shankland likely to be in the Scotland squad.
