Not fussed. Decent but imo not brave enough when heads and boots flying in. Would still take Alexander of 15 months ago tbh.

Disagree if I’m honest, seigriest is excellent imo, MASSIVE improvement since he’s been here

He’ll be a massive improvement if he ever learns how to save a penalty.

de Gea is reputed to be on £350k/week (£2k/hr!) at Man U & hasn't yet mastered the art of saving a penalty.

£8,750 an hour for 40 hour "working" week !

Fkn obscene, isn't it? When REAL workers barely get a tenner an hour....

He has improved. No arguement.
I'd hold off a wee bit on that one though.
Couple of worrying moments against Alloa. Hopefully just a blip as opossed to a return to the car crash he was a year ago.

Yes, Siegrist has improved, and I hope it continues. But plenty time to see if he does.
I'd be more enthusiastic if he gave the defence hell when they make an arse of things.
Get the impression there are a lot of fans waiting on his next mistake. Or waiting for him not to save the next penalty. It's tough being a goalie at Tannadice. It's all about confidence & there's none coming from the stands. Poor old Dusan Pernis played a hundred games & made about 3 mistakes which was 3 too many for the demanding hordes.

I've yet to see Q.O.S. but Seigrist is the best keeper I've seen in this league.
So yes hope he stays+ Big Louis has a big future ahead of him if he wants it enough.

Ross Doohan certainly, and the two older keepers at Alloa, Neil Parry and Jamie MacDonald, surely are at least as good. Doohan, in my opinion, is the league's best.

He’s improved massively during his time at United.
Club obviously think he will continue to. I’d like to see him extend his deal too.
It’s true though, you’re just one mistake / bad game from the chopping block at our club.

Would put that one more down to Reynolds than Siegrist tbh.
Siegrist’s fine for where we are, could be better in some aspects like being more dominant in his box and saving penalties, but he’s probably as good as we’re entitled to expect at the moment.
Fwiw, I don’t think he’s any more error-prone than Rado or Dusan were for us, can think of plenty howlers they both had between them, and both are still pretty highly thought of by most United fans. You could say they came under more pressure due to the opposition they faced week-to-week, but that can often be a good thing for a keeper as it forces them to keep up their concentration levels for the 90 minutes.

Cannae say Seigrist is of the standard I crave or expect but he has definately improved. He might end up a great keeper if he keeps progressing but for most of us that will take a continued progression and a few penalty saves, a more confident all round game and promotion will help.
I've seen the keepers he's compared to make mistakes equal to his historically. I wouldn't swop him for any other keeper in this league.
Edit to say, what I expect and crave is based on being brought up supporting United and having good keepers in general. Successful sides at any level need to have better than average or good keepers.

Siegrist cost us more points last season with individual errors than Pernis did in 3 years.
Cierzniak didn’t make anywhere near as many mistakes as Siegrist despite being classed as error prone.

This Seigrist debate seems to split the fans.
I will add in that he is the best two footed kicker since Hamish.

Selective memory at it’s finest.
Both those keepers made just as many mistakes as Siegrist has for us. Pernis in reality was nowhere near as good as some people recall, he was absolutely hopeless at dealing with long shots, Arnason’s winner for Aberdeen at New Year a few years back being a prime example. Also seem to remember a few howlers up at Pittodrie and at Tannadice against Motherwell just off the top of my head.
Cierzniak was just as bad. His clangers in the derby at Dens and the Stevie May daisy-cutter he let through his legs at Tannadice were phucking embarrassing.
Both were two of the better keepers we’ve had in recent times but to say they weren’t prone to the odd fuck up is nonsense.

Hahahahaha okay. One contributed to us wining the Scottish cup, the ofter couldn’t save 1 penalty to get us to the top flight. He’s rubbish and proving it again today.
