Peter Pawlett's socks.

Did anyone notice these on Saturday? Not for the first time too, big holes in each on the inside upper calves.

What's that all about, any of you 'in the know' posters?

Or any other guesses welcome too.

Re: Peter Pawlett's socks.

The Manchester City full-back has taken to the latest trend of cutting holes into his socks. But there is a logical explanation as to why he has gone to these extreme lengths

Right-back Kyle Walker has been spotted playing with cuts down the back of his socks, following in the footsteps of West Ham’s Arthur Masuaku.

The slim-fitted attire has been snipped as players look to avoid injury to their bulging calves in the latter stages of matches. The holes allows the tension in their legs to be released, which helps to prevent them from picking up muscle problems or cramp.

The holes help to release tension in the muscles that helps to prevent injury later on in games

Yet, these latest holes will be a cause for concern for kit manufacturers, who may have to tear up their plans and design a new line of socks that give players’ calf muscles more room to breathe… especially, if they insist on going to the gym again for more leg days.

I don't know a lot, but I know what I like!

Re: Peter Pawlett's socks.

Thank you A/C: that 'latter stages' doesn't always apply to PP, but it perfectly explains one of the problems he faces

Re: Peter Pawlett's socks.

Could be pulling his socks up rather than cutting holes in them.

Re: Peter Pawlett's socks.

Christ knows how Pawlett develops tension in his calves. I thought you had to actually do some work for that to happen?
