Wow!

This is probably the strangest post there’s ever been on this forum.

even including Smeddum’s wild & weird Uber positive ramblings

Do you really believe that speaking out in defence of women is strange?

No, but there’s nothing here needing defended.  People are allowed to have a laugh, that’s all it is.  (Women do it too you know)

Re: Head of Futba Admin and Legal Affairs

I tell my wife she's a total wid all the time.

Should I be reported for that?

My wife informs me that the boy that plays Thor is a total wid. Should I report her for objectifying a man just doing a job, in this case acting? He's Mr and Mrs Hemsworth's son you know.

Get a grip man.

Too much commotion

It may be "a laugh" to you, but would it send the lassie in question splitting her sides if she read it? Like several others here you need to grow up!

Just showed my wife this thread, she thinks you’re a little uptight and could do with a good ride.

Tell her thanks for the offer, but I am happily married. She'll just have to put up with you.

Re: Head of Futba Admin and Legal Affairs

I side, and agree to an extent, with leodis. The new Head of Legal Affairs may well look in here, and could be upset by some of the content which has been written.

Then there's Finn and The Shed having a slight falling out too on the thread. Nothing serious mind. I'd go with The Shed on that one, young folk need to be given opportunities.

Back to Laura McC, she's a legal expert, thus I'd be careful in case she's a specialist in slander.....................

Discussing whether someone is a bonnie lassie or not is hardly slander.

Fair comment. Didn't realise that was what the acronym indicated. Sorry.

That wasn't the matter under discussion, and fine you know it!  They were laddish remarks and inappropriate,

Of course experience is relevant, but there’s plenty other things need to be taken into account.  Dismissing someone because of little experience alone is wrong in any job.

Comments like “kid with little experience” piss me off because I hear stuff like that about good people all the time and they’re often overlooked for someone who’s done a job for 20 years relatively poorly, but they’re experienced.  Someone has to take a chance for folk to get experience, just like I’m sure someone did for you.

Jeez must be tough being so touchy. Guess someone overlooked you at some point. I’d explain why my point is relevant, but it’s not worth the bother clearly.

When you got started who gave you your first job?  Were you a kid with limited experience?
I already said experience is relevant,  but as I said above that alone is not a reason to rubbish someone as you did in your post.

Oh and I’m one of the lucky ones, I’ve never been overlooked, but I do see plenty of how younger people today are treated by prospective employers and it’s shit.

Ok I’ll explain.  I wasn’t rubbishing anyone.  I was questioning the thinking behind the hire not the person.  I’m not sure what work a football club like United would have for a person of that experience and would have thought they would find better value buying advice from experts when they needed it.

I’m all for hiring young people.  We take on 16 trainees every year.  Young people are the future of our business.  We train them and give them appropriate experience and they mostly go on to be excellent and some will end up running the business.  We also take on many other young people for non legal roles.  I’m all for getting rid of older people resting on their laurels.

Re: Head of Futba Admin and Legal Affairs

In passing she is very tidy. Obviously irrelevant but undeniable.

In terms of the job it seems a bit OTT to have a full time lawyer but if Ogrens wish to fund it and management prove we need it am sure she will be qualified to the appropriate and affordable level.

Is she full time with us? I'd be surprised if she is.

Really?

FFS, I canny believe the stuff I'm reading fae United supporters these days, It's like a contest to see wha can be the "Tannadice Mother Teresa," ev got mair feelings than you, my empathy ticks more boxes than yours, fuckin' get a grip it's a message board, there's no' been any slander fir goodness sake, questions ?...........yes, slander no!

If the lassie does read it, "would it send the lassie in question splitting her sides" phhhhttt, she's coming into the world of Scottish futba, it's easy enough no' to read it! and if you think everybody going to love you all the time, you've obviously no' done your homework! As for WYOWYN, you read it, it's no' to your taste, don't click on it, really is it that hard to fathom?

I left MAD because it was bonkers in my humbles, this was far superior but reading this nonsense I fear for the future, should we forget spontaneity and spend time engaging the "I Hope I'm not offending anyone check button" before hitting the submit?

On a personal level, what "boils my pish" is that sometimes people try to make you feel guilty, especially if they have an audience, and the "look at me, that was so nice I was crying" fuckin' man up ffs, maybe I'm out of touch but does that get you a ride now a days? and for all our Mother Teresa contestants, trust me long term they'll get bored.

The most disappointing aspect of this thread is that no-one acknowledged me quoting the greatest line in the UK's Best ever comedy programme, in response to leodis.

Tek, you'll start another 'debate'!

I don't find Gervais very amusing. And that line was an example of plagiarism.

Given the young ladies legal expertise she'll know that in Scots legal terms she would have to be defamed.  Slander and libel are English...
