Re: Ins/Outs before Tuesday 2nd September - Prediction thread

With Frans away we need another centre half in.

We are also in need of a winger.

If Sow goes we now need another striker.
This can be a very disappointing end to thenwindow.

Re: Ins/Outs before Tuesday 2nd September - Prediction thread

With all these folk away ... I think it will give the young lads a great chance of progressing
Aird away is an absolute bonus ..

Re: Ins/Outs before Tuesday 2nd September - Prediction thread

Wouldn't be getting disappointed just yet: sure the boys running the club aren't daft now.

Mind we have quite a few young players hungry for opportunities, and free agents can be signed after the window SLAMS SHUT.

Re: Ins/Outs before Tuesday 2nd September - Prediction thread

Sow signing for killie, at start of window I wasn’t sure it was right for us to let him go but the way appere and shankland have started I’ve no doubts it’s right decision

Re: Ins/Outs before Tuesday 2nd September - Prediction thread

Shankland, Appere, Clark, Smith and Pawlett all ahead of Sow. Unfortunately he is surplus

Re: Ins/Outs before Tuesday 2nd September - Prediction thread

Pleased we offloaded Aird.

Slightly disappointed if no one comes in though.

Re: Ins/Outs before Tuesday 2nd September - Prediction thread

Frans and Aird weren’t going to kick a ball this season, that was crystal clear, so even if no one comes in for them we’re no worse off.  Hopefully tho the inward announcements are on their way.

Frans was cover which we are now short if and we needed a winger anyway with or without Aird as he wasn't in RN plans.

Re: Ins/Outs before Tuesday 2nd September - Prediction thread

Not bothered about Aird and Frans. They were both clearly finished at the club. And quite some time ago too.

Hadn't given up on the hope that Sow would come good this season though. Particulary after his hat-trick for the reserves a few days back.

For that reason it would be a dissapointing end to the Summer Window for me if we don't bring in someone now. Preferably an attacker or CH.

P.s. with Sow's history of injury problems, signing for a team who play on plastic is a big risk for him.

Would anyone take Jamie Murphy from Sevco?

If he's close to full fitness, then he's walk into any team in our league.

I'm still holding out hope for a defender or two though...

Re: Ins/Outs before Tuesday 2nd September - Prediction thread

What did robbie say regarding his preferred squad size?

We currently have:

Gk: benji, Denis

Df: connolly (injured) reynolds, robson, sporle, watson, smith

Midfield stanton, harkes, butcher, king

Attack: mcmullen, c smith pawlett,

Striker: shankland sow.

Is that a base squad of 17, which is supplemented with youngsters. Sure robbie said we were looking at around that.

My issue if we dont have any defensive players coming through...so maybe need 1 or 2 there

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

A talented player on his day but just checked there - he’s 30 now and not kicked a ball for a year after doing his knee.  A no thanks for me.

He’d be best winger in league by a country mile

Probably mate.  Just after seeing the way Sow is after a similar injury, would rather take somebody that’s for likely to stay fit.

Frans couldn’t even get on the bench when Connolly was out, Robbie had no intention of ever using him.
