Making any decision about his future before December is utter foolishness.
Handing him a new deal and him signing it before Friday, leaves me feeling very uneasy, personally.
I understand others will disagree however.

I agree with this step.
We have been crying out for some stability (both board room and managerial) for years. We finally have that. Even if he loses 3/4 on the spin now, he is the man for the job. He has a group of players we all generally like. They are his players. Let’s leave him to do his job.

Feel its more a reaction to some of the managers in the league above being under pressure and making sure all teams are put off approaching us for him.

I’m all for this new contract, done a excellent job apart from a few blips, brilliant young manger ( still only 39) who’s only going to get better

I was going to say changing to a 4-4-2 doesn't make you a tactical genius (it doesn't btw) bit I didn't realize his contract was up in the summer so renewing now maybe makes sense.
I would be adding a safety get out clause just incase of any fuck ups the that see us in this division again next year.

Aye a few blips like completely fucking up getting us promoted last season.
If he hadn't changed to 2 up top he'd be out the door by Christmas.
Let's hope he doesn't revert back to that on friday .

Harsh to say the least

Vast majority of fans won't be behind any manager. Only in the short term after a big success.
I see this as less risky as we don't seem to be in such a dangerous financial position right now.
I suspect it might be aimed at showing those young players we want to extend contracts for that the long term commitment is for all including the manager and leading the way. If the gaffer isnae committed how can his players believe in the longterm commitment if he's not in the same place.

Far too early imo and ridiculous it’s the news story the week of the derby.

Possibly someone at United had become aware of another club's interest in hiring Robbie Neilson, and they decided to make the contract offer as insurance.

I know that but for super Mario to say hes done an excellent job, come on tae fook. His decisions cost us promotion so imo he failed last season. However he's doing well in the league...so far. Long way to go yet.

For me the jury is still out on Neilson. Bar a poor League Cup campaign however the start of the season has been good. Personally I would have waited to see where we are once the first round of games (against all teams) had completed before making a decision, but I am not seeing how things are working out behind the scenes and maybe that is very positive. Truth is he has only one task and if he fails to get promotion this year then he should be on his way regardless, at whatever point failure looks potentially likely. His demeanour at the play-off final was concerning.
Truth be told the jury is still out for me on Ashgar, Brannigan and the new regime (i.e. his son's role is an odd one for me), but a good positive piece on the BBC website today. I am however very content with Mr Ogren and his release of funds on and off the field.

Great news for the club Cant believe some of the negative comments

I'm unsure here. Then again I was at an event last night at which Gary Neville was saying that Solksjaer needed another two seasons at Man U and should be challenging in the third season before there is any expectation on him. His view was that it would take at least 2 seasons to get the right team on the park. Clearly its dependent on Solksjaer (or Neilson) being the right man, but I can't help but think longer term has to be right.
