Re: Scotland - World Cup 2026

I suspect Tommy Conway would have been chosen if he hadn't got injured.

Too much commotion

Re: Scotland - World Cup 2026

Not a vintage performance from Scotland but we got the job done.
I thought the weight of the occasion and expectation affected us a bit but 3 points on the board and maybe a monkey off the players backs.
Only time will tell if 3 points and a minus goal difference get us knockout football, we may have to get a point from one of our next two games.

I've been a critic of Lewis Ferguson in the past but he was great last night. Battled for everything and was busy putting fires out everywhere.

Gunn is a worry though, looked a bit like a rabbit in the headlights. Would a 43 year old be better though?

Re: Scotland - World Cup 2026

Got the result we wanted but by fuck that was a hard watch, particularly the 2nd half.

MotM for me was Grant Hanley.

Re: Scotland - World Cup 2026

Nope. Me neither. But we have a decent team and shouldn’t be scared of Morocco. They are a good team but nothing special.

Re: Scotland - World Cup 2026

The way i see it, we can't really play any worse tonight than we did against Haiti.  Maybe get a result against better opposition, its happened before.

Re: Scotland - World Cup 2026

It'll be 90+ minutes of murderball, where the best position to watch it is from behind the couch.

Clarke is the international Goodwin, he struggles often v lesser teams, overthinks it v better teams, but can often get a result when it's least expected.

With a few of the lesser teams picking up draws v top teams, failure to beat Haiti by more than one might be our downfall.

Re: Scotland - World Cup 2026

Heart says our top players decide to turn up, we can get something.
Head says we're getting 0-3

451 please, need to play out instead of long hopeful balls

I would take a 1-0 defeat now but I'm a negative Norman.

Re: Scotland - World Cup 2026

I think it’ll suit us better tonight sitting behind the ball. Well, it’ll suit Clarke better.

Re: Scotland - World Cup 2026

Hes picked a team that can't defend and one that won't score, superb tactician!

Re: Scotland - World Cup 2026

Stadium is absolutely cracking, but not one i'd ever want to watch football in.

Scotland are shite, the manager is a spineless cunt, but they sook us in every time.

Better 2nd half but overall a pretty poor night. Negative team. Too much respect for them.

Re: Scotland - World Cup 2026

Clarke has taken our best group of players for decades and got them performing below their potential at 3 successive tournament Finals.
We'll get hammered in Miami.

Gets rewarded with a new contract for that.

Euro 2020 - Shite, defensive, under performing displays.

'We'll have a go next time'

Euro 2024 - Shite, defensive, under performing displays.

'We'll have a go next time'.

World Cup 2026 - Shite, defensive, under performing displays.

'We'll have go next time'.

Pointless. All of it.

Glad our fans were loud at the baseball though (or something).

Re: Scotland - World Cup 2026

Utter shite. Hate Clark. We have several good players in that team who have looked awful in this tournament.

Would go as far as to say we look amongst the poorest coached sides at this World Cup.

Losing 1-0, played the whole game not to lose any more. Never had a go. Brought on a like for like right back and a defensive midfielder well into his 30s for an attacking midfielder to get us the point we needed to qualify. Which we could have easily got as Morocco were sitting back 2nd half.

Re: Scotland - World Cup 2026

Raging this morning. Can anyone tell what type of team we are under Clarke? Are we a possession based team, counter attack, high pressing and energy, passing??? I see no style of play other than defend and hope we can knick a goal somehow.

The reality is our good players have looked awful in the 2 games, we are poor in defence and create almost nothing going forward. Our midfield, which on an individual basis is as good as most at the World Cup and better than many, has been completely bypassed in both games and contributed almost nothing.
