That’s good money for him tbf.
Not that we’ll see any of it on the pitch.
Goodwin and the recruitment team should be banging Ogren's door showing them that the new strategy is working and to give them more help. Two good deals in six months

Just wow.
Faf ridic 😂

Suggestion seems to be that Utd have accepted bid but Ferry not keen on going to that team , maybe why he’s on golf course this morning and not training with the team

Ferry doesn’t want the move. Can’t blame him in fairness. He’s got LAFC and a host of Championship teams after him. I wouldn’t be in a rush to take the first offer and move to the Czech Republic if I knew I had those teams in for me either.
We’ve also signed a goalkeeper.

Plays for the same team we loaned Keresztes from.

The teams in the Championship in for him can't match the fee we've received apparently.

If we can't afford Kylian Mbappe its not like they'll just sell him to us on the cheap is it,so why the fuck should we? If the player isn't happy that we won't just give him away then tough shit. Dundee United means a lot more to me than Will Ferry does.

If he doesn’t want to go there, the club can’t force him. Ferry holds the cards here.

I believe he's under contract to us, so we hold that card at least.

We are in a major limbo if he rejects this
1. Stuck a with guy who wants to play but risks an injury - so sits in the stands picking up a wage
2. Leaves for ZERO next January under a pre contract.
time for the board to think

What is there to think about? You can’t force him to make a move he doesn’t want.

So the club should just bend over right?
Then you can attack them for that of course.

I think hes more likely suggesting we give him a cheap move to a club he likes that can easily afford the asking price but won't pay it.

It is not bending over if the clubs hands are tied

Thompson done it with Robertson - I feel Ferry has a bit more balls though

Why are they tied? Hes under contract? Do you see other clubs just accept a low ball offer ? Why the fuck should we? And if we had then I absolutely guarantee that you'd have been first on here to attack the club for doing so.
Damned if they do,damned if they dont.
Championship clubs that can't afford £1.7 million dont exist, neither do fancy American clubs. If you dont want to pay the asking price then fuck off. I'm 100% with the clubs stance on this, fuck Will Ferry.

I love will ferry for united but love united more. I think if he wants a move away, then he should show the club respect. Although this is all based on hearsay, I think it should be generally accepted that he should show respect to the club who gave him the platform to shine. Without united, he wouldn't have played in Europe. Wouldn't have played v teams like rangers and celtic and maybe wouldnt have gotten to represent Ireland at international level.
Equally with player contracts, its a 2 way thing. United promise to pay him in return for his best efforts for the club. If either party wants out of the deal, it has to be beneficial for both parties.
Also sure I heard on ben fosters podcast how players get paid in a transfer - if for instance they get a free transfer, then the player expects a slice of the 'saved' fee. So is it ferry pushing for a low fee to ensure a bigger cut for himself?
Time will tell but as good as hes been for united, united have been good for him and I hope that we get to a stage where everybody is happy. It'd be a shame to tarnish his legacy as a united player

They'll be prepared to wait until January and get him on a pre-contract rather than pay £1.8 million.

Maybe so but the fact still remains that people will be fast to complain if we sell him on the cheap. They will accuse the club of dropping its knickers and calling Ogren to fuck. Other clubs play hardball so why are folk panicking now? Hes under contract and he,as mentioned already, needs to show the club some respect. I'd rather lose him for nothing than let it be known that we are soft as shite to deal with.

He is our only real saleable asset atm so the board will be getting itchy if he doesn't fancy this move. Very good money for a year left. I'm guessing we are relying on this fee to improve the squad and will have targets in line ready to go.
Online!

All that United have done, according to media reports is accept a bid of they say 1.7m.
That information being out there may force clubs to show their hand, we'll have a figure we'll deal at and it's up to other clubs to offer it.
United's acceptance figure may be lower than 1.7m and the player will move to whatever club he wants to that meets it.
