FALKIRK V DUFC - 14TH FEBRUARY

Hopefully not a 'Valentine's Day Massacre' in Grangemouth. Our record there recently is really quite mediocre.

Feels like it's never really been a happy hunting ground (bar Jon Daly hat-trick game).

Been a good bit of time for players to be rested up and those returning from injury to have more time to heal.

What would be your XI and formation for Saturday?

Re: FALKIRK V DUFC - 14TH FEBRUARY

4 at the back essential.

Do the basics right. Be solid.

Get 3 in the midfield whether that be a diamond or a flat 3
but get 3 in the middle!

Absolutely vital we don't lose this.
A win would be a massive lift.

Re: FALKIRK V DUFC - 14TH FEBRUARY

Our very slim hopes of Top 6 end if we don't win on Saturday.

No league win this year for United and Falkirk flying in the league and Cup.

Tough game, but one we must see United play well for 90 minutes if we have any designs on taking three points up the road.

I'd go -

.........................AMB..........................
.........Iovu......Graham...Keresztes....
Farrugia..Stephenson..Agyei..Sibbald..Ferry
.................Watters....Sapsford....

Subs - Richards, SCH, Esselink, Naamo
Trapanovski, Stirton, Dolcek, Strain, Sevelj

Spot on with what it’ll be, will still be the turgid 3 at the back

Re: FALKIRK V DUFC - 14TH FEBRUARY

Surprised to see Naamo in so many teams.

I'm not convinced by him at all.

I would agree that Naamo is far from convincing. I think he is appearing in so many teams because the alternative,  Strain is so slow that other teams target that area to hurt us.
Thinking back to the Hearts game the 1st 2 goals. Ist goal he is caught out of position and can't get back 2nd goal he dives in when he should have held off.

A team is only as good as its weakest player and its been Strain too many times this season.

Re: FALKIRK V DUFC - 14TH FEBRUARY

Yeah I’m not convinced by Naamo or Strain, both show moments of promise but both weak defensively IMO.  Naamo is younger and has longer left on his deal so guess we’re gonna persevere with him for rest of this season.

I wasn’t to begin with but he’s slowly grown on me. In a fully fit team I’d have Luca at right back. Just now he’s better than Strain anyway.

I would call it 5 at the back.
Strain, Iovu, Graham, KK, Ferry.
You see I've not been Skyed.
3 at the back when we're attacking.
5 at the back when we're defending.
Sometimes 4 at the back when neither attacking nor defending.
I'll never get a job with Sky

Re: FALKIRK V DUFC - 14TH FEBRUARY

I genuinely hate our players eh. Like seriously. Absolute shitebags the lot of them. They couldn’t give a fuck. Same lackadaisical approach to defending every week.

Re: FALKIRK V DUFC - 14TH FEBRUARY

Not a bad performance, we definitely deserve to be on level terms, but we just look toothless upfront and if we somehow win the game it will be another set-piece goal you feel.

Trapanovski can only seemingly play for 15 minutes and then is ineffectual.

Sapsford and Luca poor (been the case for several weeks).

Farrugia and Sibbald our best players. Though we need a bit more from everyone.

Would put Sapsford left wing and bring Watters or Stirton on 2nd half. Give Dolcek a game too.

Re: FALKIRK V DUFC - 14TH FEBRUARY

The last few games Stephenson has really struggled in midfield.
On the other hand Farrugia looks to me like he'd be better in midfield than stuck out on the right. Like what I've seen so far.
We are just so fucking abject poor with decision making in that final third.

Sapsford should have put his laces through that early chance, like you say though decision making is terrible.
