Stirton might well come back into the squad for Saturday, he is able to play for both us and Airdrie.

Eventually. He already has. I know some like to absolve him of all blame for season 22/23, but i can't forget sticking by Mark Birighitti or losing all 5 post-split fixtures. He has to take some of the blame for that, at least.
I wouldn't say we are safe yet this season btw.
His post-split record with us in the Premiership is.
P 10
W 1
D 0
L 9
When it comes to the crunch we are often found wanting under Goodwin.
We probably only need a couple of wins to secure safety, but it's hard to see where they are coming from at the minute.
He was undoubtedly the least culpable after Asghar, Ogren, Fox, Ross, Birighitti, Edwards, Mulgrew and others. But we were still 10th going into the split, so it’s always been a misconception that he was entirely blameless in the situation.

I was on the fence initially with this but the longer the season goes on the more i am leaning towards out.
Having been at more games recently i really struggle to understand what our tactics and formation are expected to deliver, we have width from full backs and wigers yet never seem to put a ball into the box - and when we do we have only one player in there who is easily marked. Our pace of play is slow and ponderous and lacks precision.
We seem to have signed players and never play them in a position that plays to their strengths over the right players for our tactics and strategy.
There is far too much rotation in the squad - i get injuries, form, suspension but all season this has been the case.
I have no clue what our best team is, but i seem to be in the same boat as Goodwin on that count

I don’t like changing managers because we have a history of appointing poor ones so when we have someone doing OK I generally prefer to stick with them so they can build a squad, plan long term etc
I didn’t want Goodwin initially but he did what was needed in the championship and did very well first season back- even if our style of play was pretty brutal at times.
This season I was optimistic we were going to have another good season but possibly playing a more attacking style, first month of the season suggested that may be the case. But as the season has gone on many of the new signings have shown themselves to be flash in the pans or consistently lacking in focus and not learning from mistakes. Goodwin has completely failed to sort out a defence which concedes cheap goals, particularly late in games, and he does not get the best out of some decent attacking players.
Speaking to pals there is no appetite for the rest of the season and many have said Falkirk will be the last game they go to next Friday if we (as I expect) exit the cup. Guys with season tickets can’t be bothered watching this crap anymore. Season ticket sales are going to be very poor next season.
For me he has to go. Soon as we’re out the cup it should be goodbye Jim.
Squad needs an overhaul, not many, if any players I feel are must keeps. Would hope Sapsford can come good again. Harding obviously has potential. I’d give Sevelj a new deal. Beyond that? Not too bothered tbh.

I'd like to see how these players do under a better manager who plays a system that suits them, instead of this almost imbecellic insistence on sticking with one that doesn't. I've washed my hands of the clown now, today was the last straw. I can take getting beaten, fuck knows we've had enough practice. But what I refuse to accept is the white flag of surrender from the manager which then infects the playing squad with the same lack of belief. He refuses to try a change in system because hes a stubborn cunt and just keeps playing the same tune in his post match comments. I'm completely done with the cunt and if we do go any further in the cup it will be despite him rather than down to him.

If we were to win on Tuesday and lose Friday it would be interesting to see the attendance figures at Tannadice in the weeks after. Season effectively over with finishing somewhere between 9th and 7th likely to be the end result.
Can't help but look at that lineup from today and think Goodwins pulling a Postecoglou at Spurs and sacrificing any effort in the league in the slim hope of a cup win.
Fat chance.

Yep, we are talking about a manager who can't set up the team for the next game and yet he's trying to think 3 games ahead. Utter foolishness resting half the team and expecting things to work out. You have to try to win every game one game at a time. Winning breeds confidence, losing meekly does not. Im expecting nothing from this week and if he's not sacked then I'll not be watching another game until he is.
