Must win. That simple.
Play our strongest XI available and blow them away.
.......................Richards...................
............Iovu....Graham....Keresztes......
....Stephenson..Camara..Sevelj..Ferry
........Sapsford..Watters...Fatah...
Subs - Adams, Stirton, Trapanovski,
Sibbald, SCH, Eskesen, Farrugia
Only 7 subs in early Cup Rounds and only 3 subs to make, 4 if in ET
I'd bin Moller, Dolcek, Bert from squad, for Stirton, Farrugia and SCH
.

I’d go with that team but it’s not me picking the team unfortunately.

I'd maybe swap Watters for Moller.
Treat it in the same we we did the Livvi game, jugular from the off and let the boy get a goal.
Any 'First teamers' bombed from The squad, we might have seen the last of them.

A bit strange that you now have Watters in your strongest 11 and Stirton back on the bench 😋

So far a very low uptake of tickets bought. Sincerely hope this changes before Saturday (I know it’s a bad time of year for loads of folks).

Eye bleeding football week after week can have this effect on fans.

Sales not looking great as you say January not the best time financially for many people.
I'll be there though I will leave walking away during tough times for others.

That's what happens when folk are forced to watch ultra defensive, soulless hoofball every week.
Not to mention our managers awful record in cups. He'll be terrified of the threat of Ayr United.

In fairness though, season tickets not valid in the Cup.
Attendance in early rounds has never been great, even when we played attractive football.

Referee on Saturday Is Ryan Lee. Anybody know what he’s like?

Pretty much every team on the planet plays eye-watering football now. Even the "elite". e.g. Arsenal is like watching an NFL team. Man City passing the ball around and around and around and around.

For the umpteenth time, please give Dolcek a run in the team Goodwin

League is the bread and butter. Not suggesting a weakened team as such but I would give the likes of Cleall Harding, Dolcek, Strain, Eskesen and possibly Adams a run out.
It's a good chance to show they are worthy of a first team place.

No no no, strongest team possible
Btw there is absolutely no way Goodwin does that anyway, he’s under enormous pressure

No VAR for this game, which is probably, maybe, definitely a cost decision, so I'm looking forward to the one second glance at the linesman whilst celebrating a goal, rather than waiting ages for a muted hurrah!
As a side note, should VAR only come into play, if at all at a certain stage? Semi finals etc?
Should some teams get an advantage from VAR, whereas others don't because it's not available, in the same round of a competition?
Take Goodwin for example, in no way shape or form should Aberdeen have lost to Darvel, but that's what cost him his job, even the draw would've been bad enough, but IIRC either their winner or a sheep 'equaliser' call would've been over-ruled by VAR.
I'm all for scrapping it completely, it's been used terribly and used by dickheads applying different mindsets and being subjective depending on the colour of shirt of the player.
And whilst i'm looking forward to it possibly not ruining the in-stadium experience, what if a big call tomorrow sends us out * United have chosen not to use it because it's £10k to run, 10k isn't a lot if by not using it, it ends a cup run.
* If we go out, it will be because we didn't do things right of course, one call shouldn't have that great an impact.

Area of the pitch looking ropey, pitch inspection planned.

Game on.

Rains off no wind. Great conditions for a game. A heavy pitch will mean

Dundee United have a long history of playing well on a sandy pitch.
Here's hoping it's a good omen.
