Celtic Vs United - Saturday 10th January (3PM)

Our last win there Boxing Day 1992.

We will never have a better chance (despite Saturday's defeat).

What XI and formation wins us this game?

Re: Celtic Vs United - Saturday 10th January (3PM)

We simply cannot play Esselink on the same park as Maeda. We know this.

A 4-3-3, come 4-5-1 is possibly needed

Re: Celtic Vs United - Saturday 10th January (3PM)

Regardless of their recent results they have not been playing that bad, they absolutely battered Rangers for 60 minutes and should have been out of sight.
If they start taking their chances someone's going to get a doing, lets hope it isn't us.

Re: Celtic Vs United - Saturday 10th January (3PM)

Richards
Sevelj Iovu Graham Ferry
Stephenson Camara Sibbald
Sapsford Watters Fatah

Not sure who'd be best in a flat back four with Maeda, but Sevelj did well last time.

Re: Celtic Vs United - Saturday 10th January (3PM)

Celtic just sacked Nancy.

There goes our best chance at winning at that cursed ground in three decades.

Doubtless we'll now face a fired up Martin O'Neill side with their support behind them.😞

Re: Celtic Vs United - Saturday 10th January (3PM)

Richards

SCH
Graham
Kerestzes

Luca
Sevelj
Sibbald
Ferry

Fatah
Stirton
Trapa

I’d rest Pan Cam, he doesn’t need to be rushed back as he’s clearly not fully fit. Hopefully we have him, Naamo and Strain 100% for the Ayr game as that’s now our biggest game of the season.

With Nancy being sacked and parkhead most likely bouncing with an interim manager, they’ll do us in. Backs to the walls job & hopefully we can keep it down to a goal or two.

This may come back to haunt us unfortunately.

Re: Celtic Vs United - Saturday 10th January (3PM)

Thought we might get two games against Nancy to make up for the fact that we missed out on playing Russell Martin's Rangers.

Re: Celtic Vs United - Saturday 10th January (3PM)

Nancy, amorin and thelin all sacked- all playing 3-4-3, maybe a wake up call for Goodwin- doubt it. No good team plays with 3 at the back

Re: Celtic Vs United - Saturday 10th January (3PM)

I've got a weird feeling Goodwin will pull a surprise line-up and 'rest' two or three of our starters.

As he did against Celtic almost a year ago to the day in the midweek 2-0 defeat to Celtic at Parkhead when he started Odada, VDS and Fotheringham and inexplicably dropped Sam Dalby, Ross Docherty and Luca Stephenson.

He'll figure we'll 'lose regardless' and protect those 2 or 3 for our biggest game of the season (Ayr at home).

He will then start two or three who he already knows won't play against Ayr (i'm thinking SCH, Trapanovski, Strirton).

He's that negative a Manager.

I hope it works, regardless. If i'm right.

Re: Celtic Vs United - Saturday 10th January (3PM)

Strain back fit but Nammo out for another week with groin strain. He's the 3rd player with this type of injury in the last few weeks.

Too much commotion

Great when our players are fired up and putting in challenges eh? 🙄 Done with Goodwin, time for someone else, we're on a downward spiral.

Re: Celtic Vs United - Saturday 10th January (3PM)

First half

Number of times Richards has possession 15

Number of times Richards kicks long 14
Number of times we lose possession 14/14

This is anti football, it's a disgrace.
I'm so angry watching that.
Fuck off Goodwin if that's your tactics and take your medical staff with you.

From the one time Richards went short it resulted in us playing through Celtic and creating a great chance for Stirton. (Which he completely missed the target with)

Re: Celtic Vs United - Saturday 10th January (3PM)

What was the point in us even turning up the day

Strikers our highest players on the pitch sitting on the edge of the box, utter shite.

You wouldn’t see Motherwell doing this, fucking Motherwell fs.

We have absolutely Zero idea what to do with the ball when we have it, we shell it up the pitch every time we get it

Times running out for me for Goodwin, this absolute rubbish canna continue

Bottom point spot on, we have good players in this team being held back big time with the negative shite we’re seeing

Re: Celtic Vs United - Saturday 10th January (3PM)

First half went exactly how most thought it would. I'm glad to get in at half time only 2 down, on another day that 1st half performance ends up 9-0.

Next 2 weeks are huge for goodwin.

Re: Celtic Vs United - Saturday 10th January (3PM)

Saying all of the above, Naamo and Stirton surely must score?
I'm watching on a mobile right enough but these looked like one on one certain goals??

Stirton should do better after his lovley turn, at the very least he needs to be hitting the target. I think he panicked after he took too long and lost the ball in his previous chance, lack of experience in both cases.
