We need a progressive manager in next, hopefully the other Goodwin is looking at candidates, but I doubt it, I think we lack direction at the very top. The chairman will just be happy to plod along with Goodwin as long as we’re not in any real danger of being relegated. I seriously hope someone like Matthew Benham revives his interest in the near future, cause Ogren’s own interest has waned.

I personally however would get rid of Goodwin now. 

I would like the new man to have a few months to bed himself in and suss out the squad and decide who he wants to keep and bin before yet another big Summer rebuild. Also, to get over his style of play and philosophy so we're ready to hit the ground running in what will doubtless be League Cup Group Stage football in the Summer.

I'd like to see us go for Stephen Bradley of Shamrock Rovers. He's won multiple leagues and Cups in Ireland, including group stage European football where they competed well above the size of their club.

Shamrock are currently in their Pre-Season. Ideal time to go and get him.
 

 
I would only get rid now if we have an outstanding candidate lined up and ready to come in at this moment. Because for as much as I believe Goodwin’s ran his course, I do think we could also end up with a lot worse if we’re not careful.

We’re not a perilous position, we can afford to take the time to identify the right person. I want to see us show a bit of imagination with the next appointment, not just someone picked off the usual merry-go-round of Scottish managers, cause if that’s the case, then we might as well just stick with Goodwin.

I'd need a bit on convincing for this also. Heard good things about his coaching and training but his one stint in management so far wasn't exactly a big success. Albeit, they were shite before he took over also.

Although, I'd take any chunt that said they'd play 442 and get it wide and whip balls in the box. Sick to death of 3 at the back and attempts to complicate a simple game.

Read article 5 minutes ago looks like it’s a done deal,  looks quick and direct, hopefully we can keep ferry and this lad pushes him on because ferrys been poor this season

Having a look at his Transfermrkt player profile. Looks like this season alone he's played 4 different positions for Barnsley (Left Back, CAM, Right Midfield and even Centre Forward), playing the majority of them interestingly in right midfield. Scored as a Centre Forward, assists in the other positions. Seems very versatile, which is something Goodwin likes.

Max Watters will of course know him from Barnsley.

If a player is going out on loan it's because he's not getting game time at his parent club,there's usually a reason for that and hence he's not exactly going to be getting glowing references from the fans. It's par for the course in the January window and can't say I've ever heard of him tbh.

True, to a point.

But sometimes you'll get the odd comment like 'had some good games to begin with, then his confidence tailed off' or 'the Manager hasn't given him enough game time' or such like.

I never seen anything like that, just satisfaction and hilarity that we're taking another dud off their hands.

I guess time will tell. Here's hoping he does well.

I wouldn't concern yourself to much with what's said on fans forums.

I wouldn't say i was 'concerned', more curious as to their thoughts on his departure and abilities.

They were spot-on about Max Watters after all.

I’m sure a keeper is the no. 1 priority, but what do you do? Just not sign anyone else in any other positions at all until you’ve signed one?
