United's first Saturday game of the season.
What would be your formation and starting XI for a tough trip to Easter Road?
Offline
Exact same team that started the derby for me.
Only thing I’d possibly change is moller for Fatah but I wouldn’t be against Fatah getting a run in the team and try get up to speed
Offline
Aye same team from the derby for me too. Gonna be a tough game. They have scored one less than us but also conceded one less than us in their three games so far so on the face of it doesn't appear to be much between the sides.
Offline
Yeah same team.
Offline
Same again other than Moller for Fatah
Offline
I would add Sibbald into midfield to give us a 3.
So 352 with Dolcek and Sapsford up front, Moller and Fatah off the bench later in the game.

Same team as derby win. It would also be good to see Trapa and Strain back on the bench, that would really strengthen the bench.

Everyone knew it was only a matter of time before the keeper cost us a goal but my word thats a howler. I like the lad though, he made a good save after that and i think overall he will be decent for us but i dont think thats the last mistake similar to that we see this season
Offline
No fucking way does var give that at Ibrox or Celtic Park, if anything Vicko's arm took the ball towards the goal. Fucking sick to death of getting cheated by officials. That ref today was absolutely diabolical, should be doing junior football at best. Keeper had some absolute howlers but also kept us in the game too so it's 50/50 really. Some great forward play and we will be a threat to most teams in this league, but we have to tighten up at the back. I had a couple of quid on Luca at 18-1 so all wasn't lost, probably would have taken the draw before kick off anyway.

We should’ve won that tonight & at a canter. They were absolutely honking and we gifted them the 3 goals which is so frustrating but this team just have something about them. I’m really enjoying seeing us attack teams so much more, there’s goals in this team but i tell you there’s goals against us as well for sure!
As usual, the media darlings never got a pen last game so of course the decision was going to happen when they played us. Fuck the ref and Beaton too, wankers.

Yeah I forgot it was Beaton on VAR, explains everything really. Sick to fuck also of the utterly biased commentary offered up by Premier sports. I've cancelled my subscription as I'm no longer going to pay to listen to the cunts. They fucking hate United and my biggest disappointment is us not ramming their biased drivel back down their throats.
Also,if we can't keep a clean sheet against the sheep then we might as well give up! 😂

Jambo mate messaged me to say he was listening to the live commentary on BBC radio, said the commentators were in awe, described it as a classic and Pat Nevin was saying how impressed he was with us.
But like you say for some reason I don't know what it it but Premier Sports hate us

Tells you something when you can flog 3 goals at Easter Road & not get beaten.
Great to see a United side that goes forward.
How fast is Dolcek?!
Shame about Kuchie. He'll make the odd blunder as per any goalie but he did have three excellent saves.
10 days til our next game when we've got 3 home games in 11 days. I wouldn't be surprised if we pick up all 9 points.

What an exciting game that was. Six goals, multiple chances over and above that for both sides, red cards, penalties, VAR checks, some mad Goalkeeping, and also some great finishes. A lot to be said for that match entertainment wise!
Very, very disappointing not to win that game after scoring three goals and being 3-1 in the lead, but if truth be told a point at Easter Road is always decent and certainly against this Hibs side, who are very decent.
But, we are also good to watch this season. Always look like we have goals in us. I'm delighted to be able to say this
Gonna rate each player -
Kucherenko (6/10) ~ A very mixed bag from Yehvenii today. Some wonder saves and some brave goalkeeping, but he was also culpable in some small way for all three of Hibs goals. We've all thought that a clanger was in the post from him, and that when it happened it would be from a cross and today unfortunately he was found wanting in this regard. Hibs 1st goal just a terrible bit of Goalkeeping. He also gave Vicko a hospital pass for their 2nd, and what led to Hibs penalty and 3rd goal was him unecessarily coming off his line and flapping at the ball when big Bert had things under control and was about to head it away.
I am not a fan at all of this passing it out from the Keeper. Mixu Paatelainen insisted on this when he was our Manager and i remember Mihail Szromnik absolutely got wrecked of confidence because he never knew when to go long and when to go short. I am concerned we are watching similar with Yehvenii (though he is a far better Keeper than Szromnik over all, of course). I wouldn't be against Dave Richards starting against Aberdeen and taking the young guy out of the limelight for a match or two. Give him time on the training ground to really work on these flaws in his game.
Stephenson (8/10) ~ Really good today. Two great finishes and gave us great energy on the right. Already looking like a great loan signing once again, and looking like he has goals in him too.
Iovu (7/10) ~ Thought he was pretty solid tbh and done well again, especially as he played a lot of the match sitting on a yellow (which was harsh btw).
Esselink (7/10) ~ Same as Iurie, solid enough and won a lot of headers. Good blocks at times.
Keresztes (7/10) ~ One of his quiter games, but over all, still pretty decent and kept Hibs forwards fairly quiet.
Ferry (8/10) ~ Unbelievable delivery for our first goal. Showed great energy and attacking runs down the left. Looking like the Will Ferry of this time last year, after being off the boil for a few months. Bloody great to see. Offers us so much.
Camara (9/10) ~ Seriously, what a player this boy is. Unbelievable engine on him, an array of good short and long passes and good late runs towards the edge of the box. Makes the game look easy. Love seeing this guy in Tangerine and black.
Sevelj (6/10) ~ Plenty of industry and effort, but for me Vicko is not quite at his best at the moment, and i can't quite put my finger on why. Got robbed of the ball for Hibs 2nd (though personally i felt he was possibly fouled?), and of course gave away the penalty (it was a pen, but the straight red was very harsh). Be disappointing to miss him now for the next two matches.
Fatah (7/10) ~ Hadn't really seen anything from him until today. Thought he was great in flashes. Played a part in goals 2 and 3 and just all round looked much stronger and more confident on the ball.
Sapsford (8/10) ~ Not much service for him today, but still finds himself on the scoresheet and once again just tireless off the ball. Some really clever little flicks, feints and first time passes that put Dolcek and Fatah in a few times.
Dolcek (6/10) ~ Not his best game in a United shirt and quite wasteful with some of the chances he had. Should have burst the net at the start of the 2nd half and dilly dallied with his shot. Done well at Sapsford's goal though and was unselfish to square it.
Moller (5/10) ~ Never seen much from him in his cameo as the game was swinging Hibs way.
Sibbald (5/10) ~ Same as Moller
Naamo (5/10) ~ Jury's still out on him for me. Bit of an obvious drop-off when Dolcek goes off and he comes on, going by the last two matches.
Eskesen (1/10) ~ Don't know if he even touched the ball. Got a weird feeling it's not gonna work for him at United. Barely played and only seems to feature as a time wasting sub. Strange signing for me, but i hope i am very wrong over the course of time.

Did Esky pee in your lager TEK?
Didn't touch the ball and got 1/10?
So he could equally have been given 10/10...
He's here as a time-wasting subbie?! I bet he's had better compliments than that during his career.
I think the goalie issue will be fixed and quickly too. I'm sure we've a huge fans' favourite on our hands.
Sib/Sieb/Sieb.....Kuchi/Kuchi/Koo....
Three of his saves over the 90 mins were Walton Plus.

Enjoyed your post tEK
Definitely far more positives than negatives yesterday.
Not an easy place to go and get a result. They're decent.
Of all the obvious positives, one that stands out for me is that Fatah seems to be gaining confidence and causing defenders the kind of problems that Middleton rarely did.
I'm quite excited by this new side. Maybe DR can coach these mistakes out of Kuch.
The only negative yesterday apart from Premier Sports who seem to hate us for some reason.

Re Premier Sports. What's Michael Stewart like? He's on everything. He must have a massive divorce settlement or something. He talks tripe. He goes off on long ramblings that end in nothing. The more he talks the less he says. But can't get rid of him, he was at Firhill on Friday too.

We are on the verge of something, it's like watching a different team.
We can make Tannadice great again, turn it back into a fortress.
Dave can sort Kuchi out and there's always Adams waiting in the wings.

Need to stick with the keeper, there’s a lot he does right, he’s a long way from being Birighitti level. He just needs to be taught when to come and when to stay on his line. That’s something he can be drilled on in training until he learns, but he is a fantastic shot stopper, much better with the ball than Walton and him playing as a sweeper keeper allows us to play higher up and thus a better brand of football, just needs to learn when to stay and when to go.
The team as a whole though is the best we’ve had since the 2013/14 season with Gauld, Robertson, Ciftci etc. That will tell over the piece.

Im genuinely excited when we have players of the calibre of Camara and Sapsford in our ranks. Not to mention Dolcek,Fatah,Ferry and Stephenson. Watters if he gets fit and stays fit is a goalscorer too and Moller looks promising. A lot of positives indeed, but I'm still gutted at how we threw 3 goals away yesterday. When everything clicks we will win more than we lose though.

not a dig at you, if anyone expects Kuch to change his style of play they will be sorely disappointed. Expect superman punches to continue.

Watched it over and over, then watched it again. How the fuck is that 2nd hibs goal allowed to stand? Absolute cheating bastards! Right through the back of Vicko, foul all day long. No way on earth that goal stands in the EPL. And thats before we even move onto the penalty and ridiculous red card. Another 2 points we're not getting back!

I’m so sick and tired of this total lack of accountability for all the wrongful decisions that have cost us points. How is it possible that not only that the refs and linesmen get it wrong but the VAR personnel do aswell ?
It can’t be just incompetence from all of them.

I disagree a bit, it certainly can be coached but takes a certain mentality, and level of ability to change traits as a keeper.
A pretty good comparison to Kuch that stands out for me is De Gea during his first season at Man Utd. Punching everything, teams sticking it on top of him every cross and corner, calls to drop him and get rid of him. Was coached in to being more confident claiming crosses on top of his established skills of being a shot stopper and went on to became a top GK
Not claiming for a second Kucherenko is on that level, but if he was the finished article in every way he wouldn't be playing for a Dundee United.
If we want to develop him as a keeper, we can't be dropping him after 1 questionable game where he still made some brilliant saves.
