Same team for me with a back 4.

Probably throw Eskesen in for either Camara or Sibbald depending on which one is more fucked. But I liked the look of the 4-3-3 when we switched to it during extra time on Thursday.

Only this strong a bench cause these boys are the probably most likely to be knackered.

Like this.
Mebbe Goodwin a bit conservative to go full out with it.

Tough game on the surface akin to a roll of 4×4 from carpet King with a concrete underlay.
Team choice will be down to freshness and injuries but I would give debuts to Eskissen and 2nd debut to Stephenson.

Exited 2 cups in 4 days.
What party?
14 days to Derby Day when we may or may not be back partying.
I pray we will but it's going to be a long fortnight.

Well we'll be down to just Stirton so I doubt there's gonna be a party. That was absolutely shite today.

Terrible today. The defending was nothing short of pathetic, and we constantly made stupid mistakes that won Killie dangerous free kicks, corners. So so so poor.
These players get a pass because of the efforts they've put in, but we have only got 2 games in the next month and we need to get 4 points from them (both away games btw).

That's was a pretty rotten watch. Defensively poor in all phases and didn't create too much. Going to break it down by player for a change:
Stirton: Scored but is too inexperienced to play that lone striker role, if it weren't for our horrendous injury list then another loan at a Championship team would do him good. Needs to go on season loan where he'll get 30+ games. Knocked his pan in but that role is a tough ask at that stage of your career.
Dolcek / Fatah: Both had their moments but tiredness showed as the game went on and slowly became anonymous. Need to realise they won't get time on the ball in this league.
Sevelj / Sibbald: Standard performances for both but looked knackered, won the ball back plenty then promptly turned it back over.
Stephenson: thought he had a torrid time today, but chucked in for 90 mins after not playing any competitive fitba.
Ferry: plenty effort but no quality.
Iovu: Continue to not be convinced, looked shaky and Killie appeared to be targeting the ball between him and Esselink or him and Stephenson most often.
Esselink: responsible for the first goal I thought, a good ball but should've been more switched on.
Keresztes: thought the back 3 generally all looked shaky.
Kuch: not much he could do with either goal.
Poor across the park. Yes the pitch is shite and Clancy the ref was even worse but that was piss poor. A "week off" this week so let's hope we can get the defensive side of things sorted and a couple free midweeks to get the legs back.

To be absolutely honest I am sick to the back teeth every time we turn out on a synthetic surface, and that's before a ball is kicked.
Get them in the bin.

Absolutely stinking today. I understand tiredness played in a part in some of that but that only gets them half a pass, the other half they were just rank. I would’ve started SCH, Miller and Kai over Iovu, Dolcek and Fatah as well as the other changes to add some energy that we clearly lacked. Another cup match we’ve lost and down at Killie too. I’m really disappointed tonight in the team.
14 days until the derby. Time for the players to get a few days off & get at least 1 striker in depending on Max’s injury. Don’t fuck about United.

Where to start- Clancy, fuck me. So inconsistent, booking our players for challenges but not Killie players for similar ones. Luca on the keeper in the first half and then Stirton for going for a ball with his foot then the Killie boy had his head down. Unreal referring performance.
As for United - thought we did ok in the 1st half.
Ferry and Fatah were linking up well. Fatah very skillful but needs to learn to release the ball quicker at times.
Defending for both goals a farce. I think at the 2nd, they all thought the ball was going out and going out so hesitated for a second. Killie didn’t though.
I think the three boys brought in at the back are all good footballers, but maybe not aggressive enough for our game. I actually think all three if them would be better in a back four alongside Graham.
Lastly, that pitch- get these artificial pitches too fuck. It’s embarrassing that we have these pitches at our top clubs.

Didn't want to say much about Clancy yesterday as it may have seemed like blaming him for a poor performance but you're spot on with this.
Feel like the low standard of refereeing in this country has only been highlighted again to me by United playing in Europe where, for the Rapid games in particular, I thought the referee's managed the games really well. Tried their best to avoid calling nigly fouls to let the game flow, and tried to keep their cards in their pockets wherever possible.
Stirton, Luca, Iovu bookings were all incredible to witness. Stirton clearly going for the ball, Luca should've been a warning with the next clumsy foul being a booking, and I'm not convinced Iovu even touched the boy for his booking.
It could've been a really good game to watch if Clancy would've stopped blowing the whistle, both teams were trying to play some decent football I thought.
Woeful refereeing performance might not have lost us the game but it definitely stopped the game being any kind of spectacle.

Yep, the contrast is refereeing between the last two domestic games and our Euro ties is very noticeable.
Why is that though? Why are Scottish refs like this? Is it just cheating or is it something in the Scottish personality that makes us crap football referees?
