Think every one must be too devastated to post.
Haven't felt that gutted at losing a game in a long, long time. Felt similar to Mypa in a way.
The players done themselves proud over the two legs, just gutted that we had the game by the scruff of the neck and then let them out of our grasp.
I honestly think if Sapsford didn't go off injured we score again and ultimately kill the game off.
Gutted.

So proud for the boys: 5 games, 15 days, 480+ minutes, lost count of injury list.
Key one on the night Sapsford who's loss freed up a man at the back for them.
At the death we're so down on numbers that we're throwing on 17 year old talent Constable.
And then to go out finally by a ba' hairs width off the upright.
Heartbreaking.
On Sapsford, please don't that be a bad ane - he's just too big of a talent to lose.
I actually thought the boy should have been offski - 2 feet off the ground, studs down onto Sapsford's ankle - simple.
We move on, focus on League now, negotiate Kilmarnock and then a fortnight till Dundee derby. Hopefully another thriller, Willo back, well earned recovery and any luck Jim'll have the problem of who to pick.
Be proud.

Outside of Shankland's PK every goal conceded has come from a cross and 3 of them straight from corners. That's garbage any way you look at it. Needs sorted out and quickly before every team starts to target that.

We might not have gotten through last night but at least we have buried the ghost of Alkmaar as far as I'm concerned. We got our pride back in what was, over the two legs, our best European performance for many a year.
Well done to Jim Goodwin and this mad assortment of players he's brought together and made a team from 🧡🖤🧡🖤🧡

Huge well done to jim, the players and the fans, everyone can hold their heads high. The performance, the atmosphere..electric, the best for years and years. What if we didnt have this injury crisis? Too devestated to give my thoughts on the game and to be honest despite being in tannadice for over 3 hours its all a bit of a blur right now

I'll say something else, the way the Rapid players celebrated like they'd won the trophy tells you exactly how well United played and how close this tie was. I also wonder if the media will all be pointing out how many Academy graduates we had on the pitch last night? Not to mention those still on the bench. Nah probably not.

I feel gutted for the players and for the management team.
Its so clear that they put everything into the performance last night, but sadly the lack of experienced players available cost us.
As fans, we cannot expect the team to win these types of game, but we can expect the players to give their all and that is exactly what they did. Sure there were some errors made and some situations that could have been dealt with better, but after the recent run of games (all high profile and difficult) with a small core squad, we can only applaud the team for their efforts.
Proud to be an Arab.

Agree with this and thought the fans were superb last night too. Plenty of positives and if we get a full squad to select from then I’m looking forward to the season ahead as from the showings so far we have nothing to fear.

Before the 1st game myself like most fellow Arabs were mostly concerned that we weren't about to watch another Alkmaar.
Now after the 2nd leg we're disappointed to lose after ET & penalties.
Still early days but it looks like the Goodwins have signed some good players.

Nothing but pride for the way the players played last night, left absolutely everything out there, and we couldn’t ask for any more from anyone really. For all the folk complaining about us sitting back in the second half, I’d say it was more that we were pinned back, Rapid are still a very good passing side when they turn it on. I was convinced that they were gonna murder us in extra time due to our players being dead on their feet, but they looked more tired than us by that point.
A lack of options from the bench is really what’s killed us, we just didn’t have any genuine pace to bring on to get at them, or options in the middle of the park to freshen things up. Thomson was full of endeavour and done a job on them, but him and Kai really don’t have the quality to make an impact coming on to knick you a goal. Sapsford is about the last player we needed to get injured last night, he’s so unpredictable and direct, their defenders were terrified of him. What a terrific player we’ve got on our hands there, I reckon we’ll get good money for him at some point, hopefully not soon though.
Hope Fatah’s not too hard on himself, it was actually a really well struck penalty, a few millimeters inside the post and that’s blasted into the top corner.
If anyone’s to blame, it’s that bastard that does the music, fucking ridiculous to cause a delay like that, adding on to the pressure on Fatah, all because he’s wanting to make it all about him. Sums him up tbh, a complete and utter ignorant tit of a man. He can take his shite podcast and his fucking wrestling tunes that nobody else in the stadium wants, and stick em where the sun don’t shine.
A great atmosphere last night, one of the best the old girl’s ever had, looked fucking resplendent seeing 4 sides of the stadium decked out in tangerine. But fuck me, that George Fox stand is absolutely fucking lifeless, looked over a few times last night to see them sat down the whole time, barely any singing. If you can’t get up for it on a night like last night, it never will. And some arsehole in the shed took it upon himself to boo Vicko and shout that he’s garbage at him after he overhit a corner in Extra Time, he was swiftly told to shut his pus. It’s great having a full stadium, but you get some right tits amongst the day-trippers.

Not going to add much more since my feelings echo most of what's been put in.
Only bit to add from me is when do we sack whoever it was that seemed to be unable to find the pause button on the music and left the boy Fatah standing for 30 seconds as the referee got steadily more angry at the PA system still playing.
Playing mind games on our own player was fascinating to witness, real parody stuff.

The fans were magnificent last night and the players responded to that I thought. The new signings must be thinking what a great move they've made. No wonder Luca couldn't wait to come back.

Firstly, massively proud of our club, the players, Jim and the management team and our fans. Given the injuries that was an absolutely tremendous performance. They absolutely battered us for the period in the second half when they scored their goals. They had the bench to turn it round and that made the difference. But then we go and become the better team for the rest of the game - I genuinely couldn't believe it - I was sure when the second hit the net they'd find the third and we'd all be greeting about sitting on leads etc... Not so. To dig deep again and create two brilliant chances to take it was beyond my expectations. Genuinely taken back to the Gothenburg game. Gutted but proud to be an Arab.
I don't know the guy who does the music, but he can get right to fuck. To keep that young player standing waiting as long as he did was criminal. Our player. If it wasn't nerve wracking enough for him then keeping him waiting surely added to it. What the fuck was he thinking? If I was Goodwin then I'd be making sure he never sets foot in Tannadice again. Might not have lost us the game, but he certainly didn't help and he showed absolutely no regard for one of our younger players.

You canna blame the guy for no stopping the music for a missed pen 😂 coulda been a whole host of reasons why the music never stopped playing, absolutely piss poor to comment on his appearance also. Someone has to miss- devastating for young Fatah but these things happen in football- there’s loads of ups and down, end of the day someone has to miss- sadly for him it’s was his pen that was the decider.

I don't think anyone's blaming him for a missed penalty but you can't argue that it might have contributed.
A penalty shoot out is certainly more mentality than it is technique or ability. A couple of seconds delay could've been understood but I genuinely thought it was quite embarrassing to see it trail on for what felt like a good 20 or 30 seconds and it can't help a players concentration. Sat in the ET and the referee seemed exasperated at first then genuinely quite angry by the time it eventually went off, as did the supporters around me as we finally got round to it.
Can't speak for JD and Finn but my comment was slightly tongue in cheek, however, there's no doubt in my mind that such a delay can effect a player's concentration, especially when it's a young lad who's never been in that situation before. It was pretty piss poor.

My comment wasn't tongue in cheek. I was absolutely beelin' at the time. He seemed to want to keep it going until the chorus finished. Did he think his bit was more important than the football. If I was the manager he wouldn't be back in the ground unless he was paying. Yes he didn't miss the pen, but, if it was intentional (see ending on the end of the chorus), then it showed a massive disrespect for the player, the team, the club, the ref and the occasion. Total clown.
Just for the record I have no idea who this guy is and therefore no previous agenda unlike it sounds others have.

Fuck him, he’s an absolute arrogant prick of a man. 30 seconds in his company and you’d feel the same. Thinks cause he has a shitey podcast that he’s some sort of A-lister and that all us commoners are beneath him, meanwhile he’s never been to an away game past Perth in his life. Paul that does the podcast is sound though.

Absolutely seek disna even come near how wir ah feeling this morning.
Affy weh to loss. Kent they widna miss any oe theirs. Fatah aff the bar was a seekener. As fowk sayed, WTF was ah that daft music aboot when he was standing waiting for oor 1st Pen.
What a 1st half performance. And to inta the break we a 2 goal lead.
But noticed the cheenge in the gehm aboot the 65 min mark. Players startin to look knackered, and we started to sit deep, gee-in them chances they might no had, and a goal was comin. A daft header again. It's easy to see that defending coarners and crosses is a week point ATM.
Dinna think we couida played any better. Played till they were fit to drap. But of coorse some oe they guys we were playing against were £1M players,
We've a depleted squad ATM, even saw Zac we crutches at the end. FFS, what mair do we need.
Proud of the performance last night, but phuckin gutted ah the same.
Oe eh, and a 1st welcome oe the Season to the twice-a-year supporters esp. the chunt that got us a 10 grand fine we the smoke bomb.
MOTM fir me Ferry.
