Re: Goodwin - Plymouth

His achievement of building 2 sides and making both sides successful tells us that we have a good manager.

Will any manager inspire loyalty and admiration from 100% of the fanbase? No.

What causes a sacking is usually a prolonged run of bad results. OK the definition of prolonged is up for debate.

If Jim Goodwin fails the prolonged results test it will most likely be as a direct result of poor recruitment.
Players signed that are below the quality needed. And right now Jim is only partly in control of that.
We need to gradually reduce our reliance on an annual exit and incoming of so many players so that the risk of failure is reduced to maybe 4 out 4 in levels of movement.

I suppose what I'm trying to say in a round about way is Ogren should be looking to tie our manager to a longer contract. He's proved his worth, and if he's tempted away at least we get decent compo to fund a replacement.

I'm a temperamental fucker at the best of times and am prone to being fickle as are a lot of football fans, kinda goes with the territory. And I wasn't Jim's biggest fan at the start of his tenure, with him losing the last 5 games and us being relegated and all that. But id hate to lose him now after the upwards trajectory we've been on for the last two seasons. Hats off to him and hope he ignores any white noise and carry on the good work.

Re: Goodwin - Plymouth

Yes this is where I am. We have seen that he is a decent manager and better than most

We also to build a team longer term and you need stability for that

We should definitely sign Goodwin up to a longer deal now

He's a decent manager if we're going WWDLW.
When we're going LDDLL he's shite.
I'm afraid it is as simple as that.

Bit in bold applies to any manager.

He deserves a longer deal. Really don’t want to go back to a new manager every other season.
