Maybe this was only if an acceptable offer came in for Ferry

Possibly. Was a player from SD Santa Clara. (no name)

140,000 views and nearly 1,000 posts later, the Summer Transfer Window is now slammed SHUT!
14 players signed and 22 players departed, including 2 players sold for money (MacLeod and Fotheringham). High earners like Watt and Middleton off the books and players who simply weren't good enough like VDS, Meshack and Odada all ruthlessly binned despite being under contract.
A quite brilliant Summer Window from Dundee United.
The first time i've been able to confidently say that in many, many years.
I said when Michael Cairney's departure was announced that i wasn't disappointed to see him go one bit. The hit rate last Summer was simply nowhere near good enough, and January was (frankly) an unmitigated disaster and almost derailed our entire season.
Ross Goodwin looks on a different level entirely and he seems to have produced some inspired signings from out of nowhere. I commend him.
With good players however, comes interest from elsewhere, and our resolve might be tested in that regard as soon as this coming January.
Therefore, the hard work to identify more signings/replacements for the January Window starts NOW šš»
The ambitious don't rest.

Time to get the Goodwin's locked in for longer.Ā

So far it does appear to have been a successful transfer window. I still haven't personally seen enough of Eskinnen, Nammo or Moller to comment on their ability but the other 11 all seem to have ability.
The big change is the move away from the overinflated Scottish Market.
To highlight why the Goodwins were correct to look to the European market it would be that Dolceck has a 5 figure fee on his head and a Scottish club paid 5 figures for Fotheringham.

Far too early to declare it a great transfer window although the signs are good so far.
Dundee were so poor that game really wasn't a major test. Prior to that the form has been patchy, with the defensive players in particular looking shaky. Once we've played everyone and really seen the players over a concerted period of time, it'll be much clearer how successful the window has been.

Very good point.
And the sell-on % both ways is probably similar.

Stuart Armstrongās signed for Aberdeen.
Shame, as heās one of those players you always hoped would end up back here, but not a player we could likely afford, or have any huge need for. If weād made the group stages of the conference league, maybe we couldāve signed him, as weād have needed more club trained players.

Absolutely agree.
I didnāt think Cairney was particularly bad (by Scottish standards), but, I do think Ross Goodwin has been exceptional in terms of both the players he has brought in and the speed with which he has completed the business.
When you compare our business to other clubs, they look a laughing stock compared to us.
I remember when Goodwin (Ross) was recruited, the thing I liked was he was not from a football background. He worked for Scottish Power and was on the fast track programme. To get one exceptional player is great, but to get Sapsford, Bert and Dolcek in one window is impressive.
It demonstrates that he has a global database and just doesnāt call round his mates.

At the end of his career, probably looking for a decent wage. A signing that lacks imagination in my opinion

Tell ye what's impressing me both on and off the park is the way this League of of Nations squad is gelling, playing for one another, playing for the shed and the shirt.Ā
Ref the Match Day video.
Kudos Goodwin's

And as for the ca'canny comment on other thread - fair enough.
But you've got to look at recent performances but at the attacking potential of the full, fit, squad.

Apparently Ross Goodwin ran a twitter page called bhoys analytics, where he would basically be recommending players that Celtic should be signing- going off there data etc etc
Looks like heās done an absolutely brilliant job thus far.
Heāll probably be gone by the end for he season, seems to be the way with these sort of jobs š

The first thing we need to do is get him an assistant whom he can mentor. If we are lucky we may have him for 2 years.
Increase the asset base, by recruiting younger players from lesser known leagues, thus making their sell on value much higher.
Remember the last regime?: Bring in players at the end of their careers and pay them a fortune. Then sell our best academy players to English PL clubs.

Camara is tremendous #2
Looks like an elegant Biafran giraffe. ( if that makes sense)
He'll be a wee bit clumsy in losing the ba at times then scraps to get it back a la Morgaro in a telephone box.
Ball at feet he's off again.
Great vision and distribution- his ba through to Naamo was a peach.
And smile a mile wide.
Braw lad.

Great player. Can tell heās loving it here already, building up a nice wee connection with the fans. Things like his fist bumps to the fans after the game with Kucherenko (another character, potentially the new Sieb) go a long way with the supporters and help create a great feeling between us and the players.
I was a wee bit concerned about the amount of different nationalities we were bringing in, and how it would effect the dressing room, but we seem to have brought in some great characters, and maybe the fact that theyāre all strangers in a strange land is actually something thatāll bring them closer together than if we had a load of Scottish boys coming in from Glasgow, Edinburgh etc.
