Excellent news. No idea how good he will be but if the recruitment team have done their homework I trust them.

He's probably more thinking about the fact he'll be playing for a manager who he knows trusts him and considers him a key player, in a league he knows well. Players come and go all the time.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

Eskesen official.

2 years plus club held option of a 3rd.

Number 10 shirt.

Can't play Thursday (obviously).

Interviewed well, sounds like he is an intelligent guy that has already bought in to the club. Talked about the result in Vienna and the Hearts result. Seems this one has been in the works for a few weeks.

Fingers crossed he is a good addition, certainly looks like he will be. I think he brings something we don't have in the squad at the moment.

"Do you think you will look forward to playing for Dundee United?"
"Do you think you'll enjoy not playing but watching a fantastic atmosphere on Thursday night?"
"If we get through do you think you'd like to play European football in the next round?"
"Did the manager tell you where you'll play in the team?"

😆⚽️😆⚽️👋

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

Beating Cardiff and Swansea to his (loan) signature seems a bit of a coup.

I just hope a club doesn't test Liverpool's resolve with a bid, though it would seem that Arne Slot likes him.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

Stephenson allegedly training at St Andrews today. Great news if true. Again, frustrating we couldn't do it in time for him to start at RWB tomorrow... But all controlled by Liverpool and the loan limits.

Naamo signed on a permanent until 2028.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

They must hold him in high regard if he's getting a 3 year deal.  All other deals I think have been 2 years with a further year option held by the club.

Oooooohhhh yeeeeeaaaaaah!!

Surprised the club chose to make a deal permanent for Nammo rather than Dolcek or keresztes given he hasn't played a serious game for us yet. Can only assume his was the least amount of cash/difficulty in order to clear the way for Luca's return?

Either way, hope he goes on to show why. Now get Luca announced please

Luca announced, brilliant! A real boost for the game at the weekend and the season altogether. Great to have him back and he's only going to get better. This could possibly be the most exciting summers business i can remember. Welcome back Luca 🧡🖤🧡🖤🧡🖤

I heard his signing fee was under £50k whereas the others are slightly higher.

For what its worth, I really liked the look of him in the St J friendly. Thought he looked very tidy on the ball.

Good to hear, and Jim must like him if he's given him 3 years so I'll trust the process.

The lads said on the dode fox podcast it was potentially around 30K to buy nammo, I’m guessing that’ll be why we’ve chose him. The other two will have clubs after them.

Won't we have first option on them though? I think it would be good business to get them both signed up permanently soon as well.

Hopefully the good vibes from Luca's return can continue through the rest of today 🤞

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

Sure we’ve made 830K from Europe this summer plus 2 near sell out gates. Jim should be given a few quid for an extra signing we didn’t budget for. We need it.

A striker and another winger for me. We need pace to bring off the bench. Thomson’s full of graft and endeavour but I don’t think he’s quick footed enough to ever be a winger in a side that aspires to challenge for European football. He should work on bulking up cause I think he can become an effective right wing back.

Would imagine Fotheringham and Odada will go before the window closes, so that’ll also free up a bit of cash.

I think Goodwin will be happy with the wide options in the squad. Trapanovski, Dolcek, Fatah the main lads, and then Naamo, Sapsford and Thomson can all play there too.

Might need two strikers in if Watters keeps struggling for full fitness and Sapsford is out for some time.

Trapanovski is out for a couple more months at least,Naamo still to make a competitive appearance and Sapsford injured too. I'd say his options are still limited
