Ex-funster Scott Bain’s been released by Celtic. Wouldn’t be totally against us signing him, he’s a prick, but he’s a very good keeper.

Was he not rumoured to be a bad influence in the dressing room last time he was in the city?

He's only played 53 games in 7 years, sat getting splinters and a nice fat wage, no thanks. On top of that he's a wanker, again no thanks.

Agree. I don't want a player who went from Dundee to Celtic just for the money.
No ambition. We'd just be a paycheck for him.
There's plenty good keepers out there hungry to make their mark, pretty sure we'll find one.

25 years old and only played 64 games in his career. That is not a lot at all.

Never played more than 23 times in a season. Why? Would be my obvious question. Not like he's playing at a high level.

Hopefully we'll have a capable goalie
on the bench for every match Shakey 😎

What we need though is an undisputed number one, a leader at the back, a talker, a shot stopper, capable of coming for cross balls without our support shitting themselves.
Hopefully the boys are on the case.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

Goodwin talking up Richards in the courier as a leader in the dressing room and all round great guy.

He wouldn't, would he?

Did notice that, maybe a clue like you say.
To be honest I've no idea how good the guy is because I've only seen him play once.

Maybe Goodwin is looking at the budget and thinking if he can save a bit there he can add better quality elsewhere. But he's hardly played since his Crewe days and that was 70 odd appearances in 9 years.

He won't.

Though it wouldn't surprise me if Richards is in goal come the Euro match. With Ruairidh Adams on the bench.

Changed days. I seem to remember a game where Hamish was sent off and Heggie went in the goal.

Think Richards is ok but dont see him as a number 1. Walton kept him out for most of the season and id be looking for a keeper as good if not better than walton

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

I have a feeling we'll announce maybe 2 or 3 faces over the next week as June comes round and contracts come to an end across Europe.

Really hoping we've done at least a bit of business early. Especially with our complete lack of central defenders and starting GK.

Yeah it would be good to have 6-7 faces in by the end of June so we’re looking like half a squad for the pre season friendlies.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

Of course it's early days, but someone posted an XI with the players we currently have on the books.

I'd wouldn't be able to make a five a side team with guys I'd be happy with starting most games.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

Currently we’d be something like

Richards

Strain Harding Graham Ferry

Thomson Sevelj Sibbald

Fotheringham VDS Trapanovski

Subs:
Adams
Constable
Odada
Meshack
Stirton

Definite starters in tangerine, green i'm be fine with, if we get the right players in other positions.

Getting Luca back would be a good start.  Strengthen middle of the park and cover for Strain as well.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

There is absolutely no chance Dave Richard’s will be number 1, he probably gets a pretty good wage for being a number 2- he seems happy being one as he’s played less than a 100 games at the age of 31 , what I will say is I’m far my comfortable him coming in and playing games that I was with eriksson, Newman, zwick etc.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 25/26

This is always my favourite time of year when transfer panic sets in.
When the speculation turns to anger.
Why did we no sign him.
WTF is Goodwin playing at
Ogrens got to put more into the budget
Why have we signed him he's shite
It keeps me entertained through the summer
Just sit back and see what happens
