I'd go 4 at the back. Drop Gallagher and Holt if Graham fit . I'd also leave Strain on the bench too and leave Stephenson at RB with Miller Thompson in front of him. I'd bring in Sevelj alongside Odada in the middle and play Middleton on the left. Bubunski sitting in behind Dalby with a roving role.

Stephenson...Manny...Graham....Ferry
Thompson.....Sevelj.....Odada...Middleton
.........................Bubunski
.............................Dalby
Asks Thompson and Middleton to work hard, but they can be replaced after 60.

Worth a try. I'd just add that at their age Middleton and Thompson ought to be able to work hard for longer than an hour though. I'm 60 next year and work a 48 hour week of nightshifts.

Don't get me wrong, I think both should be able to play 120 minutes, but the modern game requires the use of the 5 subs to get the most out of 16 players. I'm talking about those positions giving 100% output over those 60 minutes. That's different from giving a more conservative 80% over 90 minutes. The point is if you tell someone to run as far as they can in 90 minutes and 60 minutes you'd expect the 60 minutes distance to be further than 2/3rds of the 90 minutes. Those boys should be emptying themselves over 60 minutes at which point they get replaced by boys who should empty themselves over 30 minutes. I'm not saying that is the current predominant mindset, but that is where this is going to go once people figure out how to correctly use the ability to use 16 players over 90 minutes.
Even at 55 I doubt you gave 100% over those 48 hours...I put in between 50-60 hours a week on average at 54 so agree that these lads have it easy but I'm clearly talking athleticism rather than general effort.

Yeah, it was more an off the cuff comment really, I do get your point of course.

Goodwin now saying Graham and Moult are only 50/50 for Saturday.

Might as well rule them out now because he's been saying that for weeks now

Just keeping County on their toes in my opinion. Dalby will start upfront on his own anyway so it'll be a bench spot for Moult at best. I'm hoping Graham is back though.

Graham is the key one imo.
The goal that Hibs scored on Saturday was headed from the exact spot that Graham would have been defending. Twice now Ferry has been caught under the ball when it's cost a goal, not a criticism of Ferry because he's a fullback not a centre back.
I hope he drops Holt and goes with a back 4. If Ross is unavailable go with Adegboyega and Gallagher.

This for me. I wouldn't object to Teks selection but recently we haven't fired up with a back 3 and looked much better balanced after he changes it (usually when we're chasing the game). So why not get on the front foot straight away. If we've got ambitions of staying in the Top 6 these are the games you need to be taking all 3 points from.

A well deserved 3pts. Should have extended Goodwins contract earlier.

International breaks give me the shits.

Can't beat 3 second half goals at the ET end, all 3 crackers.
Some brilliant individual performances today but we upped the tempo a bit as the second half started and every player delivered together to see County off.
Holt was much better, Manny was great, Gall was just steady, midfield had more shape and control. Ferry best game for ages, Vicko was terrific. Luca was classy. Dalby must be horrible to play against he competes fully for everything. Sande supported him well. Babunski a wee bit further forward and much better. A lot of good controlled possession, patience and better passing link up play.
All 3 goals beautifully taken by the scorers.
Brilliant to go to the international break on that result and performance.

Great performance all round, no failures throughout the team however a few can improve on parts of their game.
The positives, for me were the back three standing up to a big physical team. Gallagher was and is the leader at the back.
In the middle that was defo Babunski and Sevelj best game with the later running about like a stolen car at times.
Up top big Sam was excellent again, starting to give the Jon Daly vibe.
Mom was Stephenson for me, an round performance, they just couldn't keep up with the boy 👏👏
Lastly young Owen, take a bow young man, great finish and brilliant to see that raw burst of emotion.
On to Ibrox, JGTA.

MOTM was Sevelj for me. I thought he was outstanding today.

A home win under the lights, three points, clean sheet, two Strikers scoring and some great finishes.
Pretty much the perfect afternoon, well done to the lads.
Absolutely chuffed for Owen Stirton. A Utd fan scoring his first goal for the club on his first league appearance and in front of the East Stand. Stuff of boyhood dreams. Hopefully the first goal of many for United.
P.s. i hope Goodwin and Cairney are already looking for a new LB/LWB because i don't think Will Ferry will be with us long. Outstanding today.

Probably our best performance of the season against a team I would expect us to beat at home.
Happy we had 2 strikers on from the start.
Brilliant for Stirton.
There won’t be many seasons in the last 30 years we have had this points tally after 12 games in the top league.

Well that was an excellent all-round performance. The best team throughout the gehm.
Apert fae a wee foo-pas between Walton and Gallacher, we probly shoulda been 2 or 3 up beh half-time. esp. Dalby.
Sevel batters the post. 2cm to the right and it woulda been in.
But we didna hae to wait lang. What a flehin haeder that was beh Luca.
What aboot Babunski's overhaed boot. Dalby baets the affside and aff he goes.
Huvna coonted exactly, but it was only aboot 20 secs that the ba was in play afore Stirton haeded in the 3rd.
Canna say much aboot Brother Beaton. Hopeless as usual.
MOTM fir me Ferry.

No doubt it was a good performance, particularly the 2nd half.
We overwhelmed them down both flanks and they couldn't cope. Ferry rightly getting a lot of praise but I thought Strain also bought a lot more balance to our attack.
I would add though I thought RC were stinking. Only Hale would I take at Tannadice. Their the worst SPFL team I've seen this year.
I also was encouraged to see Odada in his short cameo charging around desperate to get involved and force his way into the team.
Unfortunately Fotheringham in his cameo appeared to be in the huff and I don't think he touched the ball.

Sevelj was my motm yesterday, absolutely immense in the middle of the park, Babunski and Stephenson also very good.
If we can keep strain fit he will be just as good as ferry, both offer so much going forward
Dalby is on fire, proving me wrong big time, that was a brilliantly taking goal yesterday.
Jort badly needs a goal, the one in the second half where he try’s to chop back inside is frustrating, just hit rhe baw ffs, actually thought in the second half he had a really good game.
Last thing, made up for stirton the smile on his face when he was celebrating was amazing.

Who does Goodwin leave out for the New Rangers game?
He might be tempted to start the same XI whilst only strengthening the bench with the injury comebacks.
Unless going more defensive seeing it's them. Graham for VdS?
Btw check the BBC Scotland pic of Ryan Strain's face as Owen Stirton heads his goal, it's one of pure delight!

Graham for VDS? So 4 centre backs?

Delighted with that. A good around display and hopefully shows jim he can trust the team to be a wee bit more attacking.
Delighted for stirton especially - thought he looked good at brechin and hasn't had many chances - so hope it pushes him up for more chances to impress.
Not a bad performance in the team. Mention to adeboyega - seems to have attracted a bit of criticism recently but think he's a cracking player. Big and fast and has put his error behind him to put in a couple of good performances.

I think we should be offering Dalby a pre contract in January, I'm sure he's in his last year at Wrexham is he not? Has a happy knack of putting the ball in the net which isn't easy to find.
