Re: Away Strip

To be released tomorrow, there are some previews on social media. Looks like a white top with tangerine trim

This is in line with the colour on the teaser.

Re: Away Strip

Like a white Utd away strip.

But would much prefer black shorts to tangerine shorts.

Re: Away Strip

My guess - mostly all white. Similar to home strip pattern/collar wise....but tangerine accents instead of black.

On further inspection of the tease, that's exactly what it is. You see the right hand shoulder.

I think there's too much tangerine in the top to have black shorts with this one.

But as a general rule, white top, black shorts, white socks.

Re: Away Strip

Not so sure about the shorts (might grow on me) but the top is an instant classic.  Think the whole strip looks great together but I'm too old for that anyway...

Hope the quality is decent.

Re: Away Strip

Nice enough top but I'd prefer less tangerine, like others. Also not sure on the shorts....

I guess it's just the home shirt in different colours.

Side note - why is the united badge on the keepers strip 1 colour? Think it cheapens the look

Re: Away Strip

Also good to see 7 youngsters sign their first professional contracts.  Good to see that level of investment in the youngsters.

Re: Away Strip

It's an alright kit, effectively a colour swap of the home kit.

I'm not a huge fan of the white and tangerine, prefer black and white for our away kits.

Re: Away Strip

Tops alright.

Too much tangerine though. Black shorts would have looked so much better, with a bit of black trim in places too.

Not terrible, but not a classic.

Very similar to the away strip in about 2003/2004

Agreed on all white badge.

Looks cheap and tacky.

Re: Away Strip

Was just in the shop for something else, and that away top is a lot nicer in person than it looks in pictures. It’s got the lion off the badge done in like geometric lines across the front of it which looked quite smart. Reminds me of an away kit we had in the mid 00’s with the white top and tangerine shorts.

In all honesty though, I canna say I really care all that much, I’ll never buy it. I’ve never understood grown men getting their knickers in a twist about football tops, once you’re past the age of about 13, you probably shouldn’t be wearing them.

From Wikipedia, so might not be 100% true.

Replica tops in adult sizes were first introduced in 1971 as a means of determining those who shouldn't operate heavy machinery, be left unsupervised with sharp objects, or be selected for your pub quiz team.

Re: Away Strip

I'm not seeing any knickers being twisted...just people with an opinion about something happening within tye club 😂😉

I'd guess folk buy adult shirts for a number of reasons. A way of putting money into the club. Because they like them. Helps give them a sense of community. A tshirt for holiday to name hut a few potentials.

Respect its not your bag but equally there will be lads on here who wear them all the time. If your interested, I'm a wear them to the game kind of person

You know as well as I do there’s grown men that have a full blown meltdown if the kit isn’t out and ready to buy by the first day of the Dundee fortnight.

There’s no reason for a grown man to be wearing a football top to the game unless he’s either in the starting line up or on the bench.

Likewise, you don’t need one to wear on your holiday as an adult unless you want to spend two weeks in the Spanish slammer for suspected sex offences.

I jest of course, but I genuinely do think a grown man going about in a football top is the equivalent of a forty year old Star Wars fan walking about in a Darth Vader mask. There’s a certain age where you just need to let that shit go…. And that age roughly coincides with the age you go to high school.

Bit harsh that last paragraph Jerry. Don't see the issue with anyone at any age wearing a football top to a football match.

What a ridiculous post. Grown men wear football shirts all over the world, massive massive revenue for clubs all over the globe. May I ask what you think is suitable attire for folk going along to support their team? Stone island jumpers? Or should we go back to the days of clogs and flat caps instead? Sex offences? Oh my lord!

I'm calm, I just think your whole post was ridiculous. Grown men can wear football shirts to the game or on the beach or in the pub or wherever they want without looking like Gary Glitter. Clubs can afford players because of this.

Re: Away Strip

Wearing a football top etc  will always be a no-no for me on a holiday (apart from the fact it's not the best material in heat) I don't want random folk approaching me, bothering me.

But they also serve a purpose on others, the OF families on tour are easily spotted and avoided.
