He's back in full training, yes.

Re: Utd vs Aberdeen - Saturday 4/3/23 (6PM)

Newman
Freeman.  Edwards.  Graham.  McMann
                          Behich
              McGrath         Sibbald
Harkes             Fletcher            Niskanen

Sunk a bottle of Malbec since getting home from work and still haven’t had anything to eat. Will probably revise this tomorrow when I realize I’ve forgotten about 8 starters.

Edit to clarify - Newman isn’t actually playing just behind our right back. And with Smith dropped, he doesn’t need to. 😂

Could we maybe sneak in an extra goalie while you're pissed? 😋

I might be pissed but the extra keeper would be Birighitti, which seems a waste of a 12th player. Tempted to sneak Goodwin out there.

Followed the Malbec up with a bottle of Pinot Noir. Had some salt & vinegar crisps. Definitely a 4-4-3 with Goodwin shoehorned into the midfield, and only one keeper. Fuck it. Predicting 9 points from the next 3 games.

I'd play an 11th outfield player and not bother with a goalie

I’ve got a feeling the Aussie might be back between the sticks

I think you may be correct. If its possible to be less competent than Birighitti I think Newman has maybe accomplished it. I can't get that first RC goal last week out of my head.
Maybe like Goodwin, Birighitti just had a very bad week,

I believe Goodwin held a turd polishing contest last night with the winner to be announced later this evening.

Re: Utd vs Aberdeen - Saturday 4/3/23 (6PM)

I'd play Newman. County's first goal aside i thought he done fine thereafter, and it might just have been early match nervousness (trying too hard to impress).

If Birighitti starts tonight and makes another mistake the atmosphere will be toxic.

Improved performance but improve all we want you cannae accomodate accidents waiting to happen in the team.     We desparately need to shoehorn somebody in to replace Edwards and Birighitti.
Feel for Fletcher and Sibbald in particular who give their all.

Re: Utd vs Aberdeen - Saturday 4/3/23 (6PM)

Night and day compared to last week in terms of effort, that's a start.

Start off with the obvious,  big Edwards again 🙈. You can see it coming a mile away, he needs dropped for Wednesday for his sake and the team.

Never wanted to see that Aussie playing for us again and he still gives me the absolute fear.

Positives if there are any, was the amount of chances we created, big Fletcher needs to bury a few if them.

We do look like a team that's on its way down but it's not over yet but will be if we don't win at least one of the next two games.

Re: Utd vs Aberdeen - Saturday 4/3/23 (6PM)

The effort was there tonight, but we are again undone by not just individual errors but also a lack of cutting edge and quality throughout the team.

For all our chances in and around their box, how many saves did their Keeper actually make? I can only recall his save in the very first minute (which Fletcher should have buried btw).

Edwards tonight. Can't recall a Utd player have as big a nightmare in terms of being culpable for so many goals.

I'm struggling to take any positives from what is now our 7th defeat on the spin. I really can't see where the next win is coming from.

I'm exactly where you are. Fletcher may well trouble defences but what's the point of playing one striker when that one striker hardly ever scores. Watt upfront on his own would have scored more. I think it's time Fletcher was rested and we try something different. How many games have we actually won with him playing up front on his own?

We have bombscare keepers and central defenders, we have a soft as shite midfield and no goal threat. It's an absolute relegation triple whammy, shame the club did fuck all about it in January.

If Jim Goodwin is the answer then I've lost track of the question.

Re: Utd vs Aberdeen - Saturday 4/3/23 (6PM)

Thing is, I was concerned about Fletchers low scoring record the moment we signed him and would have preferred a younger faster striker who knew where the goal is, and didn't have a fucking man bun preferably.

Re: Utd vs Aberdeen - Saturday 4/3/23 (6PM)

Not concerning the game, but i noticed Middleton was nowhere to be seen in the squad tonight.

Did that fud Liam Fox compound his injury last week by bringing him on? Would seem so.

Re: Utd vs Aberdeen - Saturday 4/3/23 (6PM)

Thought we looked better last night, Goodwin had the team better organised but it's all about results and we have lost again.

I don't think it would make a difference who we brought in as manager. That squad highlighted the same problems as has been seen all season. Yet again as soon as we haul ourselves back into a game we concede immediately. We are a mess at the back. Glacial pace going forward and lacking a real cutting edge up front.

As ADS said, these issues should have been addressed in January, they weren't and I think the club are going to regret that decision because that squad of players are going down.
