Went through a list of Premiership players that are out of contract at the end of the season. This is the few who may be worth looking at, some more than others. Massive lack of strikers there, and we know from previous season’s in the Championship that it’s a position you need to get right.

Sam Walker - GK (Kilmarnock)
Conor Hazard - GK (Celtic)
Kieran Wright - GK (Rangers)
Ross Stewart - GK (Hearts)
Scott Fox - GK (Motherwell)
Stephen O’Donnell - RB (Motherwell)
Keith Watson - RB (Ross County)
Paul McGinn - RB (Motherwell)
Jack Fitzwater - RCB (Livingston)
Dan Casey - RCB (Motherwell)
Mikey Devlin - RCB (Hibernian)
Alex Iacovitti- LCB (Ross County)
Stephane Omeonga - DM (Livingston)
Dean Campbell - DM (Aberdeen)
Liam Donnelly - DM (Kilmarnock)
Jason Holt - CM (Livingston)
Sean Goss - CM (Motherwell)
Andrew Shinnie - CM (Livingston)
Robert Snodgrass - CM (Hearts)
Matty Kennedy - RW (Aberdeen)
Fraser Murray - RW (Aberdeen)
Gary Mackay-Steven - LW (Hearts)
David Wotherspoon - AM ( St. Johnstone)
Liam Polworth - AM (Kilmarnock)

Off that list, I’d absolutely be trying to get Fitzwater, Iacovitti & Casey at the back. Stephen O’Donnell surely to fuck has to be an upgrade on Smith and Freeman. Jason Holt would be a brilliant signing for us. Wotherspoon another one who would probably be a smart signing. Matty Kennedy maybe would offer us something on the wing. And GMS if his body can still take professional football would obviously be a major improvement on what we have

I'd take Fitzwater, Holt and Kennedy. I'd probably take Polworth as well if he could replicate his performance last night, he was excellent for them.

Too much commotion

Re: Rebuilding United in the Championship

Agree on Polworth, he’s defo one worth looking at. Been one of Killie’s better players this season.

Scott Banks I notice is out of contract at Crystal Palace, still only 21. I’m usually wary of signing Scottish boys who fucked off to England at a young age, as they usually just play U23 games and miss out on crucial years of playing against experienced first teamers, and come back totally unprepared for professional first team football. Banks however has spent the season on loan at Bradford and has 6 goals and 5 assists from the wing in 35 games in league two this season. Also won their YPOTY so must have something about him.

If Goodwin stays, I wonder if he might go for Vaclav Hladky in the goal, had him at St. Mirren and he’s spent the last couple years picking splinters out his arse at Ipswich. Always impressed me at the Buddies.

Re: Rebuilding United in the Championship

Jeando Fuchs been made available for transfer as per Peterborough’s statement on their twitter. Hasn’t played at all since we tried to sign him in January. Might depend if he has other, better offers, but he’s another one we need to be trying for.

Swap him for Levitt.

Re: Rebuilding United in the Championship

Quite a few Premier League teams like Hearts and Hibs will deffo be interested. I wouldn't even be surprised if Celtic or Rangers took a punt on him, on more than one occasion the wee man was the best player on the park against them. We've got no chance.

Fuchs thought we were beneath him when we were in the Premiership, he's not coming to us in the fizzy league.

Fuck him anyway.

Also Celtic and Sevco will not be signing players who can't get a game for Peterborough.

Re: Rebuilding United in the Championship

Don't get the fascination for Fuchs coming back. He came here on the understanding it was a stepping stone to England, couldn't wait to get away from us. No way he's coming back here.

He was happy to come back in January, it was their chairman that kiboshed it, not him. I get that he might view that differently now we’re in the Chanpionship. But England’s clearly no worked out for him, so he’s going to have to lower his expectations. Motherwell were in for him as well, so they might go back in for him, but I don’t think he’s gonna be teeming with offers this summer, so you never know.

Re: Rebuilding United in the Championship

We need big physical players for the Championship.  Fuchs should not be what we're looking for.

Hopefully the start of the mass excesses of these duds but it will be very difficult to shift the ones under contract.

Edwards was an absolute imposter, a complete shitebag. Never a captain in a month if Sundays. He chucked it on more then one occasion thus season.

From the tele

“ United captain Ryan Edwards did not even make the match-day squad for Sunday’s defeat and Goodwin confirmed that he will depart the club when his contract expires.

He added: “I had a conversation with Ryan and he won’t be offered a new deal.”

Most other youth recently haven’t filled me with much confidence.

Motherwell fan saying on social media we’re after Motherwell striker Mikael Mandron.

A United fan page hinting we’re after recently released Livi centre back Jack Fitzwater.

Fixtures out on Friday 30 June.  Quite a long wait.  Hopefully get some signings in in the meantime.  Imagine pre season will need to start before end of June.  First league cup game will be 15 July.

Re: Rebuilding United in the Championship

During  " The Championship Years " we really struggled against teams who kept 10 players behind the ball at all times ( nearly every team that came to Tannadice and most teams even at home ) so I hope lessons have been learned and Although Jim is right to demand he wants players who are 100% up for the fight we need to be smart about this as well and sign a few players who can create.
