Re: DUFC v St. Johnstone 18/2/23

Up until the Johnnies got their goal, I didna think they looked like scoring.

Peach of a goal by Levitt.

I thought we were the better team the day if I'm honest. Far mair attempts on goal than they did, but a bit of dogged stupidity let us down.

I've moaned for many a month about all this needless backpassing, and it was only a matter of time before it out done us. Well today was that day.

Agree that Birighitti fooled around too much, but Mulgrew FFS. Why on Earth pass back when there's a Johnboy either side oe him. FFS.
(at the time I actually thought that May had fouled oor keeper but that's only my opinion and it disna matter now anyhow).

That was enough to put anychunt inta hospital.

Birighitti has dislocated his shoulder. We now have ONE Goalkeeper at the club. A rookie at that.

An utter shambles of a situation.

Tbh this is good news, as we can surely use the emergency loan option and get someone semi competent?

If the Aussie ends up having both arms amputated at the elbow I doubt it will seriously impair his ability.

Indeed.

But as we all know two new goalies should have been signed in January.

It is beyond ludicrous that they are only acting now through necessity when this clown (and the big baldy Finnish one) have threw the ball in the net since last August.

My contempt for Asghar and Fox has never been greater.

That attempted clearance by young Newman, where, he contorts himself to avoid kicking the ball on his left foot, then proceeds to volley the ball to the St Johnstone forward, left me speechless.

Why are we employing a goalkeeping coach?

Very worrying.

He could even have played it out or just took an extra touch. Anything but mis-hit it into a dangerous area of the pitch.

In no way ready to be a No.1 who can be replied upon in a relegation dogfight.

Even more worrying, why do we continue to employ the very same goalkeeping coach that got us relegated last time? Absolutely staggering!

do we end up recalling the Fin because he’s on loan or the young boy on loan before we can use emergency loan? No sure the rules.

Re: DUFC v St. Johnstone 18/2/23

Don’t fear lads fox has said for the fifth week on the trot “ we’ll get back to work on Monday”

So out of his depth it’s quite unbelievable, we’re in free fall to the championship

Re: DUFC v St. Johnstone 18/2/23

Honestly could not believe what I was seeing with that second goal yesterday.  Battle our way back to a great equaliser by Levitt, 10 minutes to go so lets get a winner.... then we do that.

For me it all stems from this way that all teams are trying to play now - play it out from the back at all costs, regardless of the score or situation.  We've just equalised, 10 mins to go, we need to win - get the ball in the oppositions half ffs!

Yes, keeper to blame big time but so is Mulgrew and so is Fox and all the other coaches at the club for creating this culture.  Its boring as fuck to watch and if you make a cunt of it like we did yesterday, you pay for it big time.

Thought Fotheringham was good, actually wanted to carry the ball and take his man on - that will be coached out of him soon enough no doubt.

Re: DUFC v St. Johnstone 18/2/23

As mentioned already our keeper is a disaster zone and i hope we never see him in the first team again but fear that won't be the case.  We had Carson who wanted to play and probably would have waited for Benji to move on but someone decided to sign the big Finn and Carson moved on - to now play for St Mirren.  Would really like to know who has been involved on the decision making for that position,  Why we have the coach who saw arguable the worst goalkeeper combo in our history is beyond me.

Also going to throw it out there, i know we have injuries and suspensions, but we are a worse team with Mulgrew in it, our better performances have been without him in the team.

Want to be positive but with the constant changes and shuffling i dont feel Fox has a clue or is being influenced too much by his assistants - we will be lucky to get out of this mess

The only real positive for me was the performance of Fotheringham, always looking for the ball and willing to take his man on, will we see him again? With this coaching team who knows.

Re: DUFC v St. Johnstone 18/2/23

Neil Alexander getting punted was another big mistake by our sporting director.

Hopefully global recruitment team are going through a list of available African goalkeepers for saturday

One goalkeeper at the club? Finally, an improvement.

Re: DUFC v St. Johnstone 18/2/23

Not for one second trying to defend the keeper here...but with the way the rules are 'evolving' then this, as far as I'm concerned, is flying into a challenge recklessly.

I said the same thing at the time. Based on their reasoning for not throwing out Edwards' red, that's also a red.

FWIW, neither was a red. But the inconsistency (which seems even worse now we have VAR involved) is a joke.

On the plus side, it should get Birighitti out of the team.

Also agree with Lancashire Arab. We are a better team without Mulgrew. He slows everything down and allows the opposition to regroup. Plays more sideways passes than Barry "Spongebob Squarepass" Ferguson.

Couldn't believe what I was watching yesterday. Still can't.

FFS

Bad news about Middleton. Relentless disasters the now.

There will be uproar if that keeper plays again.
