Hopefully will get to play full time and develop, rather than grabbing a few minutes here and there

Oops - too late.

I agree, these boys need game time and Fox clearly doesn't fancy the lad.

Hopefully, the club sees something in him but thinks he/they need more minutes to fet that experience, rather than being thrown into a battling united team too quickly.

Think young lads learn a lot from playing against lads who are physically superior to them and who have wages/bonus' on the line, as opposed to b team games which will be a mix of kids and players coming back from injury

I'm still hoping that we see a Levitt style loan from one of the big teams down south. I think last year, we showed we can look after players from top teams and give them a stage to flourish. I guess the gamble is for every Levitt, there's 5 Roy o'donavans

I've just accepted the fact that if we get anyone in who is capable to be an improvement on our first team regulars it will be a bonus.

Tony Watt linked with a move to Belgium.

Not sure I agree with loaning out a player to a direct rival. How ever does it free up a wages (or wages) for somebody who would make a bigger impact? (Not talking about another Ugandan coin toss - but a guaranteed starter in one of our problem areas)

Re: January 2023 Transfer Thread

If we are not bringing anyone in after shifting a load of fringe players out on loan and likely moving on Watt then we know that Ogren has zipped his pockets shut.  It's a huge gamble to think that we have a better squad than those around us - whilst we have improved we are still effectively routed to the bottom with a shit goal difference....and  we still have the same glaring gaps in the squad which will only be added to if we see these departures and nobody incoming.

There is also the fact that we have ditched one of our dodgy keepers and not replaced him.

Re: January 2023 Transfer Thread

How our Head Coach can seriously say he's happy with our squad when we are only off bottom on goal difference is ridiculous. Everyone else can see the squad needs strengthened.

If Watt goes We are looking threadbare upfront. If Fletcher picks up an injury we have Anaku who the manager doesn't rate or think is ready for this level and a 16 year old who isn't ready to start regularly for us either.

...and there is no way Fletcher will be fit enough to play every minute of every game and is of the age where we have to accept he'll miss a few (as he has done already).

Where he as Sadat yesterday? I thought our manager said before the game he had a full squad to choose from but he wasn’t even on the bench.

Expect a £8M offer any minute....

Re: January 2023 Transfer Thread

Some boys on other sites thinking if Souttar gets sold we'll be off splurging the cash.  If anyone thinks Ogren isn't sticking £2M of that in his back hipper I am afraid they are deluded.

Spot on, might give the opportunity to pay for the wages of a player on loan, I can't see us paying a fee for anyone now.

Indeed.  With gambles like Levitt looking like going the wrong way we look very light on sellable assets for a club that has been primed to become a super-selling club.  Asghar doesn't know what he is doing - sooner he's gone the better.  Unfortunately much like the players he is 'developing' nobody wants him either...

....but we'll continue to scour the edges of the market for the next hidden gem.  Gone well so far...

Re: January 2023 Transfer Thread

Yip the last I think of the Stevie Campbell era earning us once again another 3 million.

If I was Ogren I would be very hesitant at giving the sporting director more cash to waste.  I am not though and he seems to have a blind faith and there are very few sellable assets after over three years.

I couldn't give a hoot about the bank balance but Ogren will be looking to take a chunk of that cash should it come in from Stoke and who can blame him.

What I do care about is the team that plays for us on a matchday and that is void of quality and confidence. It's a shit show from top to bottom highlighted by the fact we are joint bottom of the league and haven't signed a player in the 30days available so far this window.

I would guess Ogren has told Ashgar it's one in one out, what a struggle it's been for Ashgar trying to get a willing taker for some of the shite he's assembled over the past few years.

Finger out please, goalie, center mid, right sided wing back and striker all required but I am not holding out much hope.

We really do need to get the Asghar out bandwagon going again.  Nothing is going to improve with the rotund charlatan in situ.

Re: January 2023 Transfer Thread

I'm not on a Ashgar out wagon, he is hear as long as the Ogrens are in place.

When it comes to his role of SD I just try to be balanced and call it as I see it but the negatives and misses far out weigh the positives and hits.

Anyway fingers crossed he gets a few in to plug the glaring holes in our squad.

Re: January 2023 Transfer Thread

Every team around have strengthened except us

The right side of defence is absolutely pish

The midfield is powder puff

We lack a serious amount of goals and creativity

Seriously worried if we don’t bring anyone in
