TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY

Seems ridiculous to expect IN/OUTS when we are sitting here with no Manager.

But we have just sold our Top Scorer in the past two Premiership seasons, whilst Managerless, so i think it's safe to say there will be more activity before midnight tonight.

OUTS? -

Expect Logan Chalmers to complete his move to Burton.

Hearing we are trying to offload Niskanen.

And looks like Birighitti may be on his way out already (don't believe for one minute he's injured).

IN'S? -

Who knows.

But we simply must sign a No.1 Goalie

Hopefully also a CDM

and i would like a proper No.11 to play up alongside Fletcher and forge a partnership/score goals with him.

Doubtless be the usual disappointing day. Hopefully no surprise departure for an 'undisclosed fee', like wee Cudjoe departing.

Re: TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY

First rumour is we’re interested in a charlton goalie who’s out of favour, Craig MacGillivray.

Reading between the lines of what he says doesn’t look like we will see anything coming in. Charmers out on loan and that’s about it.

Re: TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY

Looks like nobody coming in which is hardly a surprise.

No manager so we would probably be looking at a loan player but what responsible parent club would send their players to us in our current state.

The squad is so thin in every dept apart from the goalkeeping area and that's the one that is the most concerning.

Just got to cross our fingers that one of these keepers comes good.

Madness.

Sums up far too many of our recruitment decisions over the past few years.

Re: TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY

We can’t keep players who don’t want to be here.

Although I can assume we maybe told Carson that he was gonna be the number 1, when we thought Siegrist was leaving initially

Re: TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY

We just have to hope that one of the goalies takes a game, but regardless, the hole in the middle of our team is going to cause us issues and the defence are not going to be provided with the protection that it clearly needs.

I think we are relying on other teams to be poor again, but I don't think we'll get that luck this time.  It's worrying that teams like Killie can go to Hearts and get a win.  We look way off Hearts at the moment.

Maybe we have to accept that we over performed last season (or to be more accurate, over-resulted as the performances were too often poor) and that this season will be more about trying to consolidate our position in the league.  The frustrating thing is we have brought in some good players, but the basic structure of the team is not there to allow those players to flourish.  The ball winning CDM is a must in this league and certainly a must for a team like us who us who has a fairly lightweight midfield and forward line (bar Fletcher).  It is what it is, just hope we can scrape more wins like at Livi and manage to keep the scores against the Old Firm and anyone else on a good day to somewhere short of embarrassing. Buckle up....

Well well Finn, I've finally read one of your posts where I can't disagree with a single word 🤣🤣

Worrying times indeed! 😋

I'm sure I'll get the opportunity to return the favour at some point...

Window is shut, team weaknesses crystallised (bar any free agents - although I don't get any feeling for a budget for any).  We've got to thole what we have until the next opportunity.  We will appoint Fox on a rolling contract as which serious manager is going to come in and work with the mess left by the Ross feck up?  It's all very depressing, but it's not as if I can switch off being a United fan.

There really won't be a problem finding another manager as far as I can see. What's the worst that can happen? Fired after 7 games with a nice fat wedge? I wish my company would fire me and give me a pay off for the remainder of my contract. I'm still hoping (praying) that Zander Clark is still on our radar as he's still without a club. Still leaves us with that hole in the middle of course but I'd just feel a little less worried if we had a proven keeper.

For those with short memories Ads, Benjamin wasn't a proven keeper in his early days.
I do remember cos I was having to sympathise with his wee brother on Fb as he was upset at the lack of love he was getting from the fans!
But he overcame it all & has done rather well for himself.
Give Eriksson a chance, he deserves it & I think that he'll take it.

Good point and I'm quite prepared to give him a chance, but not that treacherous Aussie cunt though 👍

Re: TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY

Don’t know why folk are surprised we didn’t sign him. We have 2 first team goalies at the club. Hope when he is back from injury the Aussie gets another chance as think he is the better of the two.

Re: TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY

Looks like Clark is doing a Siegrist, money is clearly more important than actually playing.
Very sad IMO

You honestly think he's injured? Nothing to do with him being a fucking weasel then? I hope he never pulls on a United shirt again.
