Poison chalice? The arse has completely fell out of the team that finished 4th and was hard to beat, in the space of 2 months under his leadershipThe same team ? .... No
Time to put together a team ? .... No
Team went out and performed at Dundee United all time lows ? Yes.
But as I, I say I feel for the guy given the shithouse cards he was dealt.
He got far more money to spend than his predecessor though, so arguably a better team on paper
Did he? You really think he was the decision maker for all those players?

You know what, I just can't be arsed with this nonsense any more. Everyone has an opinion, just sick to fuck of the Asghar is ruining our club brigade. The club were progressing year on year until the last few weeks under Ross. That's enough for me.

The club were always going to progress with Ogren sinking significant funds into it. The question should be should it have progressed more. The answer on the face of the current debacle is undoubtedly. 4th was a bit of a fluke last year, but if the plan was on track we should have been comfortably capable of 4th this year. Unfortunately that doesn't look likely and there is, in my eyes, only one man who should shoulder the blame. Granted, Ross was pants and had to go, but who appointed him and who failed to back him with the errant 'top-pros'? The Sporting Dictator is culpable.

Most of the fan base thought Ross was a great appointment though right?

Statement from Mark Ogren. (apols if this has already been referred to)
Doesn't say hellish much to me, expect we should keep supporting the current regime.

It's a good statement. Confirms the club remains on the right path, and he is still committed. Its what the fans wanted and needed to hear.

Interesting to see Levein (my call for interim) announce on the radio that he wouldn't take the job under the current setup when he was the one getting a similarly awful rep at hearts for signing poor players and interfering with head coaches plans.
I, unlike most, don't have any strong opinion on Asghar but for Levein to say what he said without the usual "I know it's a tough job..." lark did stand out for me.

Most of the fan base don't know what the feck is going on at the club. The Sporting Dictator should and should hire accordingly. FWIW I don't think Ross is a bad manager per se, but he was always the wrong fit for United because of our 'set up'. 10 (ten) weeks proves that. If I hired someone that we needed to pay off after 10 weeks I'd be getting absolute pelters.

There really is no response to that. You probably believe unicorns exist too...

I wonder how much of the Ogrens' understanding is down to US team structures where the General Manager (Sporting Director equivalent) is the one doing all of the signings and negotiating and the coach, while they have an input, are seen as more dispensable and coach the players they are given.
I hope it isn't and in some ways it is a case of public backing while TA has been left in no doubt behind the scenes he needs to get the next head coach/ manager appointment correct.
what i do want to see with any new manager is more than one first team coach, we only have Liam Fox and the GK coach. Given the size of the squad we need more than one coach for the first team and I would be willing to sacrifice one of the many within the academy structure in order to fill that role. I get the model and how important the academy is but the first team has to be the priority and we seem short of coaches.

The club is on a path alright but it's not the one the fans wanted, you don't need ears to see it

It's a clear statement, which was timely and necessary.
You do wonder however at what stage Tony comes chapping at door of last chance saloon.
Feb 1st 2023 perhaps ?

I was at a football related charity dinner last night in Edinburgh and we were the butt of most jokes. Rory Bremner was the comic and his first gag was a good to be back from the pandemic...good to see work flowing in again...I've got the Dundee United end of season dinner at the weekend....
It's hard to take...

Let them laugh. Only five games gone and plenty time to get back on track. As for Rory Bremner, he’s about as funny as a jaggy shite.

I'd tend to agree, but his Boris and Trump impersonations were actually fairly amusing. The rest was rubbish.
