Who do you want, tek?

It doesn't really matter who i want.

It's gonna be Jack Ross.

Just interested. You said above your not convinced. Just curious who you want in the job.

I would like us to have spoken to Stephen Bradley the Shamrock Rovers Manager.

Took over in late 2016.

Since then he has won them -
FAI Cup - 2019/20 (Shamrock's first Irish Cup since 1986)
Irish Premier Division - 20/21 + 21/22
President of Ireland's Cup - 21/22

Took them into European football. Currently top of the Irish Premier Division and on course to win their 3rd title in a row.

He's also shown them a degree of loyalty by turning down a bigger club in England (Lincoln City), so hasn't just jumped at first offer (unlike Courts).

Re: New Manager Thread

Fwiw I would be delighted if we can get in Jack Ross. His win percentage and overall record is excellent. Also right kind of manager when we are about to start a European campaign as he has decent experience

Steve Clarke would also be great but he will not leave Scotland to come to us.

I can see Jack Ross doing well in the Craig Levein mould - and then when Clarke leaves it will be Jack Ross that Scotland go for

… then we could pick up Clarke !

You heard it here first !

Re: New Manager Thread

Heard JR wants to bring Craig Samson with him but we have just brought in a new GK coach.

Hope that is not a deal breaker.

Craig Samson been at tannadice before.

We need a No 1 goalkeeper (and a manager) as well as someone to be GK coach

Re: New Manager Thread

If you are a manager that would allow a deal to break down on the back of a GK coach decision then you're not for me.

Re: New Manager Thread

Ross requested his usual number 2, John Potter. But he’s recently taken the Kelty gig. Think we reached out but it’s not happening

Kelty in league one and he’s just got the job as a number 1

Was hoping he’d be happy to work with Fox as he wanted him at Hibs.

When Mellon was unveiled I think there was a little delay before he chose Frail as his number two

Re: New Manager Thread

Tomorrow is the day I've heard.

Quicker the better obviously as he has a lot of hard graft ahead of him. Hopefully Jack doesn't look at the 4th place position and think that all is well.

We need a massive injection of pace and skill throughout the squad and also a keeper.

The club in my opinion have picked a good one here i think but I am a bit surprised that Mulgrew isn't his number two.

Re: New Manager Thread

Seen a few mentions of Mulgrew as a coach and tbh I dont get it.

Come on lads.

Well said.

Look guys, we all know who the new manager is going to be. It appears to be widely known.

I have a funny feeling there might just be an announcement today sometime.

Go on then AlwaysUnited, give us another update.

Re: New Manager Thread

7PM on Friday night.

What is the hold-up here? We've known Courts was wanting to jump ship for about a fortnight.

If Jack Ross is the only candidate and wants the job it should have been done by now surely?🤔

It’s got me worried. Hopefully Jack Ross will be announced on Monday. It’s going to spoil my weekend not knowing tbh !

Agreed. Maybe he’s not so sold on the Sporting Director model. It could also be the money made available for signings. In fact, it could be a few things. It reminds me of Celtic’s attempt to land Eddie Howe.

It’s taking too long.

Re: New Manager Thread

What will be will be, if it isn't Jack Ross then I'm sure it won't be for the lack of trying. If he doesn't want the job then let's get someone who does.

I believe Mark McGhee is available and has a great track record 😋

Re: New Manager Thread

Tbf before 'preferred candidate' was bandied about, it should have been done.

Say Jr doesn't take it - the next person in the door is not preferred- sloppy seconds
