Re: Summer Transfer Window

Even with the above, we need pace a day service or shanks/fletcher will do nothing

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

That would be a failed autocorrect. Cheers for pointing it out.

Pace in midfield and service to the strikers is still required.

100%. We’ve been lacking a pacy winger for years.

Re: Summer Transfer Window

Looking like another day of tumbleweed down Tannadice street

We fly to Spain on Sunday, surely be some new faces by then….

Re: Summer Transfer Window

The promising thing is the management team are aiming for the moon in the targeted players.

I'm sure we could have had Mullen, McGinn, Doige and Considine wrapped up last week, would that have made people happier?

Personally, I believe that going for a higher standard of player will inevitably take significantly longer.

I think it'll be worth the wait.

Re: Summer Transfer Window

Worth the wait to an extent but we have a number of positions to fill, we have huge European games in a month and need to get off to a good start in the league too.  As I say, hope to see movement before they go off to Spain.

Re: Summer Transfer Window

You know what i don't want to hear if we have a poor start? Excuses.

Such as -

Some players need a 'mini pre-season'
Some are playing 'catch-up' fitness wise
Players need time to 'gel'
Adjusting to a new country

Etc etc

Less than 4 weeks till the season starts and we have signed no-one. Whoever comes in the door now hasn't even done their leg work, never mind being thrown into action.

A shambles.

Fitness-wise, I would image the caliber of player we're ambitiously targeting won't be sitting about at home currently. They are all at very good/elite clubs and will doubtless be receiving excellent conditioning work.

I take your point about time to gel, but the type of players we are after are the types who gel very quickly. Quality rises to the surface.

We can only hope so.

But in the case of guys like Fletcher, he's only just coming back from holiday.

We need these targets signed and in training asap.

Re: Summer Transfer Window

No pawlett till October

Get a finger out United, complete and utter shambles, biggest game in about a decade in a months time and currently can’t even field a decent team

That is unbelievable news regards Pawlett.

What an utter waste of wages he's been the past 4 years.

Re: Summer Transfer Window

Jack Ross must be thinking 'what the hell have I let myself in for here?'.  To have brought in nobody (bar a returning no mark Yank on a pointless one year contract - which doesn't really count) at this stage of events just goes to show either that we don't know what we are doing or that we are skint.

If Levitt was available for £300K (which he just can't be) would we not bite their arm off?  Even if Man U were clearing the decks (and why would they before a World Cup appearance) they wouldn't announce the asking price - what I don't understand (if it were true, which it isn't) is who would?  Tony playing 'mind games' with himself?

Pawlett's extended contract was baffling then and is even more baffling now.  We've made some really bad decisions in the last few years.  That said at least he's not fit so we can't be offering him another extension just yet...

Re: Summer Transfer Window

Think people need to relax a bit. No one is liking that its taking a bit longer than we'd hoped to get signings in but its clear the club are working to get things done.

Think some are getting a bit carried away. Not naming any names Finn.
