Celtic vs Utd - Saturday 29/1/22

Last win there was 1992. It's now 2022.

30 years on. We can't, can we? 👀

They’ve a few players out but can’t see it. We played well the last time and had the luck of the devil with them hitting the woodwork 4(?) times and still couldn’t win. You never know though.

It's not where you're from it's where you're at.

We definitely rode our luck in that 1-1 draw, but we should also have had a penalty to put us 2-1 up just before halftime (and their man should have seen red). But, as per, Utd simply don't get these big decisions in our favour.

Ever.

It's just hooks for future unlikely 'told you so' posts.  It's just boring.

We can win, We won't win, but let's see.

Always talks pish.

Nope.
But equally, taking them all the way and going down 2v1 in 85th minute could be season defining.
            . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Attack.
Sit in - they'll break us down.

C'mon United !!

Re: Celtic vs Utd - Saturday 29/1/22

Word on the street is that both Mulgrew AND Edwards are missing tomorrow. Gonna be very difficult without those two at the back.

Our young player from Ghana, Mathew Anim Cudjoe is supposedly in the 1st team squad tomorrow.

Never even knew he had been granted his work permit. Be interesting to see if he see's any minutes and how he does. Huge stage for him to make his debut in. Could find out a lot about the lad if he didn't freeze on such a stage.

Tbh Tek, I'd be happy if we have both back for Tuesday night instead. Chuck some young lads in for a game we will most likely lose anyway and save those with niggles for games we can and should win instead

Be interesting to see young Cudjoe play if he does get an opportunity

Mulgrew to see a specialist apparently.

Hopefully Edwards is back alongside either Butcher or a new signing at CH.

Not great news, we are really light at the back and the club very slow to address this

Re: Celtic vs Utd - Saturday 29/1/22

Two scenarios today
1 CFC win the game in the first 20mins and save themselves for their derby. 2-0

2 CFCs fringe players try to earn a slot in their derby team 5/6-0.

Unfortunately i reckon we are just there to make up the numbers. The home match against them was one of the most one sided matches ive seen in over 50yrs of going to Tannadice.

A brave team selection and a braver performance.

The group will move on to the Tayside Derby on Tuesday full of confidence after that.

Re: Celtic vs Utd - Saturday 29/1/22

Despondent.
Oh so close.
I'll no get over it tae Tuesday night.

But immense workrate, commitment and desire from the whole team.
I'll give MOTM to Butch who was a mountain - no just in marshalling a'bidy roundabout but time and again vital tackles and getting rid of every header that came his way.
Special mention to Benji - back to his miraculous best. Let's hope this performance disnae sway the vultures and he's in our line up come Tuesday.
And a shout out to Niskannen who to me disnae get the credit he deserves. He's no the out and out winger with pace and trickery we craved, but what he does have is tenacity and value defending.

Roll on Tuesday.

I have lost count of how many times we have lost late winners to Celtic, predictable but still sickening every time

Don't think i've ever heard any Utd fan refer to the game against Dundee as the 'Tayside Derby' before.

Well the general consensus is it's Tony or someone doing a decent parody of him.

The 'group' will move on to the Tayside Derby.

Not the team, not Utd, not our boys or our lads...the 'group'.

OK
