Not exactly spoilt for choice at the moment though so it's as good as it can be I'd say

Poor performance tonight, feel sorry for all who travelled to watch that in this conditions. Couldn’t even manage a shot on target when Motherwell were down to 10 men. Really disappointing.

Started dreadfully and never improved
Pass marks to Mulgrew and Watson when he came on, rest were hopeless

Said elsewhere my main concern over TC's appointment was his lack of experience in going up against streetwise managers and make the tweaks necessary to win games like that one. The last two games have shown this up as a weakness IMO. A brave decision early to replace Glass with Clark, and probably the correct one, but it was obvious after an hour that dribbling and passing were not going to work on that pitch, so we needed to change our approach - much as TC might hate abandoning trying to play football. But he stuck with it, and brought on Sporle, who always tries to carry the ball (and doesn't often beat a man, even in good conditions). Kerr Smith on for Hoti, Edwards up top next to Louie, Harkes and Pawlett behind them, and get balls swung into their box from wide as often as possible. It's not pretty but needs must.
Celtic next? Heads will be down a bit. Hope to hell we get Fuchs and Levitt back.
Good post.
It was obvious we needed to try something radical tonight to get a foothold in the game.
Personally i would have put Clark and Appere upfront as a pair. Brought Chalmers and Meekison on as wingers and took off Niskannen (hasn't kicked a ball in weeks) and Hoti (awful tonight), would have put Pawlett in the middle alongside Harkes.
Last 10 minutes we should have just thrown Edwards up top. What was there to lose at that point? If they score the 2nd, so be it. We were losing anyway.
We for the the 2nd game running never attempted to put the opposition's 10 men up against it anywhere near enough. Like BMT above i feel really sorry for the supporters who travelled through. Not even one shot at goal all night. Awful stuff.
Big test on Sunday now to see how we react against a free-scoring side.
P.s. young Darren Watson was the one bright spot with his cameo. At least he looked 'up for it' and tried to get forward in atrocious conditions.
The SPFL shouldn't be scheduling midweek fixtures in winter, Saturday 3pm's can be bad enough on their own. Fans travelling too, it's rubbish.
Farcical conditions the longer the game went on, an early goal against and our goose was cooked.
Contrary to some posts, I saw no lack of effort from us, quite the opposite. There were some bedraggled players out there, spare a thought.
No thanks to the Fun either, there was a backlash from M'well.

We were beaten by the better side, simple as that.
Motherwells front six were all significantly better than ours. Watt & Woolery miles better than any of our attacking players.
As it stands we are going to be in a battle with about 8 other teams, no where near the top 4.

Agree, regarding winter football but that's for a different debate. TC got tactics all wrong last night, fancy passing on that pitch was impossible and the fact our players kept trying it was laughable. It may be a club DNA but unplayable last night so adapt ffs. Very very poor, lessons need to be learned quickly..... also highlights our lightweight squad
We're at Fun Towers on Jan 2 then next game is the Sc Cup 4th round 22/23 Jan.
Winter shutdown, why? To let the Glasgow Twins get to the Emirate.
That's why 800 Arabs had to travel to South Lanarkshire last night to watch a game played in deplorable conditions.
The SPFL Championship, 1st & 2nd divisions are scheduled to play in January & there are only two or three of these clubs with under-soil heating.
I'm not for summer football, just for more rational fixture scheduling.

Couldn't give a toss what the 2 Glasgow teams do ever.... but sitting in a May/June evening is far more appealing than that ...

No plan B Tam.
Only good things I can think of:
- Thank Christ I didnae have tae get up at 4 in the morning tae suffer that.
- Big plaudits to travelling support
- Young Watson looked good when he came on.
- McNulty shouldnae be to far away.

The reason for the midweek cards is because there are a few Saturdays built into the calendar exclusively for Scottish cup or league cup fixtures (probably around 4/5). There is another set of midweek fixtures in February

We have seven first team players unavailable. I think the winter break will benefit us massively. 7 fixtures between County and the break. The break will be needed. Some of the players look tired imo

Mate suggested another reason might be to let Sky get their Old Firm quota up. There will be a minimum number of OF games in the contract.
