Re: Summer Transfer Window

If there's anyone getting 'ragdolled' in physical challenges it's his opponent, not him.
One of his best attributes is his tenacity, he loves a 50/50.
He reminds me very much of Barry Douglas who's had a great career.
And if we can sort out our left flank you'll see his crosses coming in.
I can remember one cross into our box when he had a lazy header & one when he was outjumped.
Meet 12 months from today & you'll be singing his praises.

And no, we're not related. I've not even met him!

Re: Summer Transfer Window

If your a regular watcher of UTD I reckon your on the wind up here.
Off the top of my head his ridiculous header against Patrick and being comprehensively outjumped/ outmuscled / ragdolled by Watt of Motherwell and Melamed of SJ which all caused goals would suggest he is not good enough and the opposition know it and target him.

Re: Summer Transfer Window

The latest I have seen on the transfer news front is that both Utd and Dundee are in for Luke McGowan of Ayr.

22 year old attacking player could be a good signing if it happens.

DCT propaganda maybe?
We were after him as well?
Fun 1 DAB's 0.
Always a popular score down Meadowside.

Re: Summer Transfer Window

If we were in for him, it's a hard sell without a manager to reassure you and tell you how you'll be utilised.

But given we've no money and no manager, i can quite believe he's a player who might interest us but how hard did we actually go for him? not very would be my guess.

Centre half who can pass a ball and take a free kick

Too good to be true

If he's fit (if) i would be ok with it also.

But why we signing another Centre Half when we have 5?

Edwards
Reynolds
Connolly
K.Smith
L.Neilson

My concern is we might be trying to earn a fast buck on Edwards (our best outfield player last season).

Connolly is out until at least Christmas

Re: Summer Transfer Window

They'll be trying to offload Smith and Neilson again. Even though both do not want to move yet.

Signing a 35 year old on a 2 year deal doesnt fot the model of the club the way Tony speaks.

Id be against throwing a 2 year deal at him at that age.

Re: Summer Transfer Window

If he's fit I have no problem with him sighing for a year with an option as I'm sure he'd he able to handle everything apart from maybe the top 3 and every other defence struggles with them.

That’s been rumoured for a wee while now.  Is it maybe done but not being announced until we have the manager officially in place?

I wouldn’t be against Mulgrew but think a 1 year would have been a better option for us .

Re: Summer Transfer Window

Hopefully we have a couple of signings ready to announce soon.

Announcing them recently would shatter the whole ‘I swear, the gaffer signs them, not me’ line from bold Tony.

Re: Summer Transfer Window

Right Tony it’s over to you. It is absolutely vital for Tams sake for you to get recruitment right so get on with it. Tick, tick, tick.

Re: Summer Transfer Window

Rumours that Reynolds is going to Cove, if so then Mulgrew is a decent replacement for him

Re: Summer Transfer Window

I think Mulgrew has a unfair negative reputation amongst some fans. There was a really lazy standard response every time he was included in the Scotland squad for example but he was there for a reason. has played at a high level and is also decent technically.

Re: Summer Transfer Window

He will be ok but at 35, he's no spring chicken - probably a 1 season wonder. Questions of his fitness to play 40 games a season would have to be asked. I can't say i follow fleetwood, so i don't know how he did last season. Doesn't seem to fit into the plan though.....

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: Summer Transfer Window

35 . ..  should fit in well ..

But seriously,  could be a good signing - touch of class and at least he's no a hoof it up the park man.
Key thing is how much he'll help Courts.

Re: Summer Transfer Window

If Mulgrew's fit he'll be a good signing i think.

We badly need more experienced players at the club who can handle the cauldron of a raucous Ibrox, Parkhead, Dens, Tynecastle, Pittodrie, Easter Road etc.

Re: Summer Transfer Window

Rumour of Reynolds to Cove so i imagine Mulgrew is to replace him. If you do have kids playing etc its important we have an experienced and solid base, id take Mulgrew for that
