Surely Mellon will freshen up the team, with Aberdeen next Saturday in mind. I think i'd play.
........................Mehmet...........
Bolton..Connolly...Reynolds..Robson
Chalmers..Butcher..Harkes..Sporle..
................Shankland...Appere....
Subs - Alexander, Edwards, L.Smith, Hoti
McNulty, Fuchs, Clark, Pawlett, K.Smith
I'm assuming Siegrist will be injured and Dillon Powers (the Invisible Man) is still missing.

Fucking great.
Hasn't even played since the last injury.😤

Letting McMullan go across the road early was a daft decision.
Don't care what anyone says. Squad is crying out for a wide player.

As long as its not the same team and formation from Friday!!!
we should hopefully never see McNulty, Shanland, Pawlett and Clark in that formation again. Lot of neat looking touches and flicks but seems no two players are on the same wave length.
Would like to see Appere given a start has looked hungry every time he has come on, always a willing runner and links up well.

Agreed Tek. A Martin Boyle type would be good. Not many about tho.
McMullan playing well for the Dee is a bit of a bitter pill too.

Eh?
He barely played.
And his last Tannadice match was one of our best performances of the season (2-0 win v Killie).
Mellon cut his nose off to spite his face. Daft.

IMO, Connolly shouldn't be anywhere near the team, especially when the back 4 is settled and we're not conceding. Would like to see Apperé in though. Thought he looked up for it on Friday night.

Hard to predict what team he will put out but (assuming Chalmers injured) Hoti and Appere are two players I'd really like to see given starts. I'd also play Bolton wide right as I'm bored of McNulty playing there.
Deniz
Smith Edwards Butcher Sporle
Pawlett Fuchs Hoti
Bolton Shanks Appere
451/433. Bolton and Appere wide of Shankland. Pressing high and getting service to him.
What I bet the team ends up being:
Deniz
Smith Edwards Reynolds Robson
Pawlett Butcher Fuchs Harkes
McNulty Shanks
Diamond midfield and McNulty/Shanks up top.
We'll see. At least its a game from our perspective that doesnt mean too much.

Confirmed that Benji has NOT broken any bones in his hand. But potential ligament damage. Still in a bit of pain. Further scan needed.

A training clip from today shows Logan Chalmers involved. Also shows Jake Davidson taking part. I wonder if he'll play any part for the remainder of the season?

Foster will be gutted I'm sure. Hopefully not too bad, doubt he will be ready for the weekend though 😕

There must be a concern that Benji's season is over.
Injuries to hands/wrists for a goalie is up there with seriuos knee damage to an outfielder.
Thank goodness we're safe.
Deniz the Mehmet may have to be our Scottish Cup hero.

Back 4 are doing very well.
But i would rest Liam Smith and Ryan Edwards (our two best Defenders) as i don't want them injured for Saturday.
Our whole season is Aberdeen away in the Cup now.

Agreed. Tbh I'd be resting Butcher and Shankland too. Nicky Clark deserves a chance to play as a striker imo, and he would have a real incentive to play well too.

MM states that we must be careful & not do anything that goes against the integrity of the league & he's right, we must in effect play these games like we're in the bottom six.
How would we feel if we were in the sh!t & a team we were depending on doing us a favour 'rested' some of their important players?

There is a thing called squad rotation though. Shankland hasn't scored very often so leaving him on the bench is an entirely plausible option in my opinion. In fact Nicky Clark is our top scorer so don't see how it could be argued against. Changing 5 or 6 players fair enough. But 2 or 3 changes? Can't see how that's unfair tbh. I bet sevco team is entirely different to the one they field at the weekend.

I'd expect some changes tomorrow. But Mark Connolly playing instead of Reynolds (as an example) is hardly a kick in the teeth to the teams around us. Bolton instead of McNulty. Appere instead of Sporle. Hoti instead of Harkes. Its not like we are replacing Messi with Emil Lyng.

Of course we should rest the team for Saturday if we want to......perfectly normal for a team that is safe with games in hand...

I'd prefer County and Hamilton to go down because they bring nothing to the league and, pre covid, brought nothing crowdwise so if resting players ends up being to Killie's benefit as well as ours then I could live with it.

I don't have any preference to which actual club goes down but would like to see the back of the plastic pitches.
