Peter Pawlett suspended, but Logan Chalmers hopefully ready to feature after 2 weeks of full training.
Straight swap?
What team and formation would you like to see start with at Ibrox?

Royal Antwerp could do us a favour later on today by kicking fuck out of them.

Straight swap Pawlett/Harkes
McNulty for Louis
Riders of the Apocalyse 0 v 1 Us (Shanks 81 mins)

Yeah I'd stick to the same and formation but with Harkes in for Pawlett.
Will be good to add Chalmers to a bench that should already include McNulty, Clark and Bolton. Plenty options to come on if needed.
A lot of feeling amongst our fans that we might get something out of this game on Sunday... I cant see it myself but of all the times to play them, in between a last 32 Europa league is surely a good time?
I would be over the moon with a point. But we've won there in worse circumstances. Sometimes we just make it work at Ibrox even when it's very unexpected.
Sporle and Appere (if playing) have to man-mark their fullbacks (assuming its Tavernier and Barisic) as they bring most of Rangers threat. Harkes, Fuchs and Butch need to be all over the midfield 3 of Rangers, and the rest, we just have to hope there are no defensive lapses, we defend crosses and set-pieces well and hope that we can counter them well and snatch a result with Shanks being as sharp as possible in taking any chance that comes his way.

Based on how last weeks game went, it seems obvious that Harkes in for Pawlett in a 4-5-1 makes sense. We went bold last time and regretted it. However, I just wonder whether Micky has something up his sleeve for this specific game that catches everyone, including them, by surprise.
Not sure what that might be although the less strikers the better. The team look better with less of them on the pitch.
Hard to second guess MM is all i'm saying really. Rangers away is not Livi at home......

Think my team would be
Benji
Smith Edwards Reynolds robson
Bolton fuchs butcher sporle
Harkes
Shankland
Bolton hasn’t been on it for a few months but from what we all see at start of season he is direct and has always get stuck in imo probably the best option to go up against barasic
Got a feeling we’ll come away with a point

Looks like Tavernier might be out? Could be a chance for Sporle to attack down their right side. Won’t get a better chance against them this season I reckon. That game last night would’ve have taken it out of them a fair bit.

Roofe injured now too

Apparently he's suspended on Sunday anyway.

Unfortunately I feel Sunday will show us that Rangers 2012s reserves are better than UTD.

Still think we’ll get nothing from this game but obviously hope I’m wrong.

So they should be. Their squad is massive and expensively assembled

Gerrard yet again calling us 'Dundee' numerous times in his latest press conference. That's every pre-match and post-match between the sides this season he's done it.
It's clearly deliberately said to annoy fans which from a Premiership Manager is actually embarrassing, unprofessional and very petty.
He's definitely doing it to get a rise. If i was Utd Manager it would be the focus of my team talk.
'Lads, this big time Charlie doesn't seem to know or acknowledge who we are as a club.
Go out and fucking make sure he knows who we are at full time'.
Prick.

TEK - do you think it could just be a mistake by Gerrard?
The guy was a legendary player for Liverpool and is on the verge of winning a title as a manager, probably making him the first choice to replace Klopp when he leaves. He'd go down in my estimation if he's doing it on purpose to wind us up.

I honestly don't think so mate. I would give some English or foreign Manager's the benefit of the doubt, but not him.
He's always seemed a bit of an arrogant prick and seems to be well suited to that particular club. He's definitely playing to the gallery imo.
Anyway, his comments are not important, ultimately.
What's important is Utd use them as an extra motivation to go there and get a win.

Ive worked hundreds of English lads offshore in the past 10 years and i would say about 90% of them refer to us as Dundee.
Much to my annoyance.

It annoys me too, which is a bit weird given how many times I have sung "There's only one team in Dundee"

Gerrard isn't just some guy who works on an oil rig or a factory or what have you and is totally ignorant of Scottish football.
He's the Manager of a Scottish Premiership side and someone who has himself been immersed in professional British football for 25 years.
He 100% knows what he's doing when he dismissively refers to us as our rivals.

Its a lazy way of contributing during a conversation imo.
I'll bet there has been other managers and players over the years that during interviews when talking about us have used both Dundee and Dundee Utd at different times.
So its not just some guy who works on an oil rig or in a factory as you say!

I have been quite down on Mickey at times this season. But i actually like this interview. He seems refreshingly positive.
I listened to the boy's first question & turned it off.
Have heard some inane drivel questioning in my time but that's up there with the best of them.
If I'd been Micky Mellon I would have replied, 'what?'.
