Defence less said the better
Cammy smith has moved in front of appere in the pecking order, who looks completely shot of confidence, would loan out need to get him firing again! Fotheringham tidy player, would start powers Saturday- ball retention is excellent and we’ve missed that
Very very fortunate scoreline

Positives were Clark, Denis, Powers when he came on, Game time for Fotheringham and Neilson.
Negatives were That none of the fringe men apart from the above showed that they should be starting.
3 at the back was a total shambles.

And Smith surely?

Pawlett was decent when he came on too.
Appere doesn't look interested.

Yes your right he done very well when he came on. He should have put himself in the managers thoughts of playing behind a front two or as part of a front pairing.

Hilariously bad, ball kept following the wee rat and car on the electronic advertising boards
They’ve have offered a refund! If you need it take it by all means but hopefully not many do, gate is 50/50 and they’ll need this dough

Disappointment, beside the poor defensive performances, was Pawlett being used before Mochrie getting a run out, or even Hoti.
I don't think much of the LC though, but it looks like MM is wanting wins rather than using the games to give experience to younger players. But if he is looking for victories, he's seriously needing to think about these experienced guys at the back perhaps not being up to it.

Positives - We scored 6 goals and won the game. Mehmet had another good game. Also Cammy Smith made a good cameo and perhaps forced his way back into MM's thoughts somewhat. Young Kai Fotheringham debuted.
And just the fact that we have Shankland, McNulty, Fuchs, Liam Smith, Chalmers and Siegrest to call upon later in the tournament (should we progress). So we have a lot of experience and strength to call upon as the challenges become tougher.
Negatives - The defence looking awful at times, particularly Mark Reynolds in particular. He had a nightmare. Brechin scored 2 against us but could have actually scored 4 or 5. This is a BIG worry as we look like conceding and gifting opponents chances in every single match, so will be heavily reliant on outscoring teams until new recruits can be found defensively.
Not enough fringe men doing enough to impress. Louis Appere in particular very off the boil. Looks a shadow of the big bustling, athletic, skilfull player he was this time a year ago. I think he might be put out on loan till January.

Shite negatives but cannae argue. Hard not tae worry regarding defence.
With McNulty and Fuchs in we can only hope for a big change in set up, tactics a better midfield tae upfront success rate.
Even if Jeando Fuchs turns out to be quality, Bolton improves &'s moved up, McNulty forms a partnership with Shankland & is as much a success as historically it'll be hard tae be a team that says you score whatever & we'll score more if we defend like the last wee while.
Hopefully that's wrong.

Bolton will need to improve if he is to retain a starting jersey. He was very quiet again tonight and by Aberdeen at home we will hopefully have Liam Smith and Logan Chalmers back available.
So he faces a fight for the rb/rw jersey i think.

As said at top of this page i turned it off.
But for what i did see our defence is an absolute shambles. Also agree with others about Appere which is a shame as i really like watching him last season hopefully just a bad day for him.

Big step up in class from playing inChampionship to Premier league for Appere and just hope the fact he was used as a lone striker earlier in the season with not much joy hasn’t dented his confidence.

Seemed like McCulloch done a lot of work with him. Probably tactically and mentally too. Possibly missing the extra attention

Last nights goals for anyone who never seen them.

I’m hoping Tek that Fuchs can maybe replace Butcher, with Butcher reverting to centre half. That alongside Liam Smith returning would bolster the defence.

Just watched United’s highlights on DUTV. It’s a thousand times better than the stream from last night. I might pay for the home games now although the price is still ridiculous.
