That'll do.
Need to strengtgen the squad and try and kick on now.

Most important thing today was 3 points.
Plenty to work on for sure, but some definite positives - shanks scoring a great goal, Sporle playing well and scoring a very good goal (with his weak foot), Chalmers having his best match for the club and Harkes having his best performance of the season. Also thought Butcher was better today.
Now get us a couple of quality players in please

Good win, nervous last 25 minutes though, although we had chances in that period to increase our lead.
Need to see it again, and Reynolds obviously made an error, having had a decent game in my view, for the goal. But did Edwards misjudge the ball coming through in the lead up as well? We seemed to lose confidence after the loss of the goal, which maybe indicates our mental toughness is suspect.
But some good performances, and the shape was a good bit better than the last match, which wouldn't be difficult. Also, very happy to see a lot more efforts on goal and on target: we really should have scored more. Logan Chalmers showed more of what MM sees in him, for I was beginning to doubt he was cut out for this level. And pleased to see Declan Glass get on the pitch for his first minutes of the season.

Sporle MoM for me and special mentions to Harkes, Benji, Chalmers, Shanks and Pawlett looked good as well.

Very happy with the result. Not seen the game but sounds like some encouraging performances and of course it's great to see Lawrence Shankland get off the mark, many more to come hopefully.
10 points from 8 games having played 3 of our toughest opponents already is perfectly acceptable to me. Especially when we take into account the limited changes to the squad and Shanks missing the best part of six games with injury.
Couple of things to mention
Firstly I remember a season in the early noughties where we didn't win our first game until November and still stayed up that season.
Secondly, does anyone remember how many points we had after 8 games the season we got relegated?
Oh, and 3 wins out of 8 is way better than 4 wins in 30 šš

When we last went down, we won our second game of the season on Halloween (v Ross County) to go to 8 points. We didn't win again until 5-1 at home to Kilmarnock in January.
This season looking far more promising in terms of staying up.

Much needed three points today and thatās is the sort of result that will keep us up, really need to tighten up at the back.
Both Reynolds and Connolly have been guilty of not doing the basics of a Center half and simply clearing their lines and not trying to be to clever. You would think with no fans in the ground that communication from their team mates should improve and they donāt have fans moaning when the boot it in the stands.
Never seen a lot of the match but great to read that Chalmers played well.

A big win after some really tough losses, I thought we played excellent for 30 mins after the break, seemed to get worse after the sending off with some nerves creeping in.
Big concern for me is how many we've conceded from 'wee mistakes' at the back lately. Must be really tough for Benji to take given he has been more than reliable this season, and stopped it being a rout at Ibrox.
MoTM for me probably Sporle who looked excellent on the ball and always fancied trying to beat his man. Think many in the team should be trying to emulate him instead of blasting it 60 yards to Shankland.
Some decent play in the second half and a Good result, and at the moment that's all that matters.

First half was pretty poor by both teams although they had more posession and created a couple of decent chances - great save from Benji from the boys header.
That 25-30 minute spell in the 2nd half until they scored is the best we've played so far under Micky.Ā Could have been 3 or 4 we scored.
If Reynolds had not made a cunt of that goal I am sure we'd have went on to win more comfortably.Ā

Shankland made a big difference to us aside from just the goal. All the chances we had in the second half came from men that were spare in and around the box. His reputation means he causes fear and panic amongst the defenders leaving space for others. Makes a huge difference.
We looked a bit uncertain at times in front of goal. Made the wrong decisions on a few occasions but hopefully that comes.

Great finish by Sporle, the lad could get more goals he has that composure in front of goal that other players lack.

I like the fact that when we are on the attack he actually gets in the box and in and around the 6 yard box looking for scraps and to score.
Very few of our midfielders ever do this. Actually run into the box and try and support the attack. Too worried about losing our shape probably.
But it's time we started taking a gamble and hunt in packs.
Yesterday shows it pays off and we can create/score goals.

Hope Sporle gets an extended run on the left wing, think heās done well every game heās been involved in. Skilful player and a goal threat too.

It would be massive if we can win our next 2 games. One game at a time of course but Accies and Livi occupy the bottom 2 places so a great opportunity to put a bit of distance between us and them.

I don't think Livi are as bad as their bottom of the table position would suggest.
Kept a clean sheet against the Rangers and almost came back to snatch a point at Parkhead yesterday.
Think they'll also add to their squad before they meet us as they have a bit of money to play about with after selling Dykes. Though it's a game we should look to win of course.

True, but I expect us to have a decent chance of victory against teams with average crowds of about 1000 (normally obviously) so one game at a time but its an opportunity we need to be taking.

Great to see AdriƔn Sporle getting plaudits, remembering his competitive debut against Hearts and the slagging he was getting at that time.
Ā
Heās certainly got something about his character, positivity and determination, stuff which might be coached out of some young Scottish lads, who appear to look for the safe option rather than being forward thinking as Sporle. Where lots of players harass opponents, Sporle tackles when itās not really the done thing in Scotland, and he has a drive which maybe gets knocked out of young players here.

Would agree with a lot of that. Heās a bit risk and reward. At times he surprises you with quality and doing something unexpected. If he had that consistently he wouldnāt be with us. There will be a lot of games that donāt go his way this year too, will require patience.
