Somebody on Facebook has just come up with.....
....drum roll.....
......GORDON STRACHAN!!
I'd go for that, no problem. Not sure he likes us tho. And it could turn out to be a revenge attack for Agent Jim.
But honestly, I think it could be a winner. Might be a wee shite but he doesn't half know his stuff.

Much as I laugh at some of Gordon Strachan's quotes, I wouldn't have him near the club, smedDUm.
His ideas on genetics were maybe poorly expressed, but indicate a flaw in his makeup, while his thoughts on Neil Doncaster's integrity makes me doubt Strachan's own morals. That's without considering his complete lack of understanding of the league structures in Scotland.
I agree he's a wee shite though.

Marijo Tot the latest name linked. Croatian. Late 40s. Had multiple managers jobs in his homeland and abroad. Was also recently no2 to Slaven Bilic. Another interesting one to say the least. This manager hunt has been anything but normal.
I really like this guy. It would show some imagination. In fact, I would have to completely alter my view on Asghar if he were to pull this one off.

The Tot guy has just posted up on his Instagram story a screenshot of the courier article that says he is interested in the job. He also follows a couple of United fans pages. I guess that confirms he has applied beyond any doubt. As much as I think he looks a very interesting candidate and going by his instagram page seems to have great experience and lots of contacts within football, it just makes me nervous when someones first ever experience of Scottish football will be standing in our dugout.
Looking at wiki he appears to change jobs once a year. I get the same feeling I got before Csaba was appointed so it’s a No from me.

I know literally nothing about the guy so it's also a no from me 👍

I'm excited to see which random manager is linked in an EXCLUSIVE tonight.
"EXCLUSIVE: Ex Premier League assistant goalie coach's cousin is being considered to potentially be on the list of potential people interested in the Dundee United manager's job"

How many more exclusives will we see in the media before the new man is announced?

It will be endless until we name someone. There is literally nothing worse than a manager hunt. Everyone has differing and strong opinions on who/what we should be looking for when in reality there is no right answer.

That's about the size of it LEK, you just don't know what you're getting, haven't a clue.
Putting all the names in a hat & picking one out would probably get a better result.
It's a total lottery.

John Robertson hasn’t been mentioned. Supposed to be an excellent coach. Talked United up all last season and in play offs before.
Only just signed a 2 year deal, mind. So would cost..

Has Malky Mackay been fully forgiven / forgotten for his outburst a few years back?

Robbo is an excellent man manager and coach, he works incredibly hard on a shoestring budget, loses players season after season and finds replacements, I think he deserves a bigger club/budget to see what he can do, also rumoured to be a 50k release fee inserted when he signed new contract.

John rankin just retired from playing Football to focus on being a manager/coach, just saying

I asked around & was told it was £60k. Same difference, gettable. Guy i spoke to said JRs training was of a very high quality and that he’d like a crack at the Prem
I'm coming round to the idea of Robertson...I don't think Tommy Wright is a goer
Robbo for Robbie & we're £140k better off.
What's not to like?
We'll have to get his wife a hairdressing salon in Dundee. He keeps saying one of the reasons he likes it up there is his wife has a shop.
But seriously I do think John Robertson is an ideal candidate. On top of all his other attributes he has a refreshing honesty about him too.

John Robertson has done a decent job at wee, small ICT. That is a massive lack of ambition and foresight to target him or someone like that imo

Malky Mackay now 6/4
hmmmmm
Football-wise. Managed at a good level in England. Has been in Scotland the last few years with the SFA so 'knows the game' up here if you'd like.
Just that cloud of him being racist and homophobic in text messages to a board member to contend with. Maybe not the time to hire someone with that in their past.

Malky Mackay now heavy favourite for the job with the bookies, no great surprise considering his connections with goldie etc

Managed at Watford, Wigan and Cardiff In the English Championship plus had that gig with the SFA so plenty of experience.
Would prefer him over an inexperienced coach anyway.
