Billy now into 11/8 and Mackay out to 9/4 - seems a big move. Fits my young hungry manager requirement, knows the club, but has he been out of Scotland too long?
This one yesterday had me wondering too.....
...MacKinlay...Badger...managerial candidate...
Are you twisting my Mickey's man?

Tommy Wright does not want to work with a sporting director. I think this has been made pretty clear and Ashgar is unlikely to want to bring in someone that would insist on him getting to fuck. That may well be the case, but other than speculation, has there been any confirmation of this?
Also, in what other line of work would you insist on your immediate line manager leaving before you considered the role?
Well you wouldn't would you?
Instead what will happen is people who would have otherwise been good candidates just won't be interested.
I think you have touched on a rather important point. Would a manager report directly to Asghar? Do we even know the organisational structure or are we all making assumptions? Under normal circumstances a manger would report to the owner. In our case we have a Board of Directors of which the owner sits. So you could argue that the a manager reports to the Board. Asghar is not a director, so who does he report to? The Board? or Ogren?
I am going off topic (again), but, when the person charged with selling the club is then appointed as Sporting Director is that not a conflict of interests or at the very least unethical? If you purchased a property portfolio, would you get the estate agent who sold it to you to manage it? Or lets look at a better example, in private equity, someone like 3i will use a placing agent to go round institutions to raise a fund. None of these institutions would have the placing agent managing investments.
On that point does anyone know what Asghar/Revolution received for selling MM stake to Ogren? Was it a fixed fee or a percentage
The more I look at this, there is very little we do know. We are being asked to trust a process.

^This is the point I have been making for a while. It's definitely a good gig to get paid for bringing someone an opportunity and then get paid for running that opportunity...

Good gig or not, it was obviously Ogren’s choice to appoint him into that role so what do you think is suspect here?

Not answering for him, but, name any other business where this would happen? i.e. You, the agent, sell a commercial entity to a third party, then, convince the third party that you are the best person to run the entity? I just can't think of a parallel.

Not sure what the fuss is about here tbh

McBookie hinted at this earlier today. Hence why SkyBet now have him at 1-5 on.
My £10 at 20-1 means I hope this saga ends tomorrow. As far as it goes I think I prefer him over all of the other candidates regardless. Malky would have been my choice had it not been for all the nonsense surrounding him, Mellon has a track record of success and enough experience to hopefully get us into top six but safely avoid the relegation spot if not.

If Mellon is offered the job, I can't see any good reason for him to turn it down. He's probably achieved all he can at his current level and it's time to prove himself in a different environment. I'm sure he will relish testing himself against the old firm as opposed to Forest Green Rovers, Salford and Crawley.
Betting movement on Wm Hill -
Mellon 4/7 from 2/5
Mackay 9/4 from 6/1
McKinlay 4/1 from 7/2
Skybet currently -
Mellon 1/5
McKinlay 11/2
Mackay 7/1
If I had an account with SkyBet I might put £1 on Mackay.

I have a tenner on Mellon at 20-1 so have just stuck a tenner on Malky at 7-1 to cover my arse, can't honestly see Badger getting the gig and Tommy Wright is out of the running so I think it's a straight shoot out between the two of them, heavily slanted towards Mellon I think.

I'm bored shitless with the whole thing.
Just give Mark Reynolds the fucking job and get on with signing some much-needed new players.

Think you're well covered there mate. Hope it's Mellon for your sake. You did well to get him @ 20/1, did you get a wee tip?

At the risk of me repeating my mantra you would be as well.
14 out of 16 managers can't be wrong.

However....I've just ended a virtual interview with Micky Mellon, I've been at it all day & I am convinced, get this boy in. Tony, I know you look in here, make it happen. I'll stake my life that he will be a great success for us & will end up with an EPL club. You heard it here first, I've a very strong feeling, please Tony, land him & I'll love you forever.
