LarsErikKjell, I think you maybe called Tobias Smollett a name tacitly before he called you one.
To Reynolds: I think too he's a great guy, and a good role model for other given his career. But I also think he'd be more suited to a player coach position at the club.

He's lost a lot of pace and we concede more goals and lose more games when he's in the team. That is, when he's not nursing his injuries. Like I said, I don't dislike him but we have better options currently and, if he won't be a guaranteed starter, then he shouldn't be captain imo. Nothing against him but I think we could do better.
You told me to bore off then called my opinion shite, and I called you a clown in response. Pretty much the same.
Aye apologies, it's early in the morning. Everyone is of course entitled to an opinion and we'll agree to disagree on Reynolds buddy.
Anyway back to the rumours and while we're on centre backs - I've seen a few more rumours about John Souttar recently...

Findlay hasnt been mentioned much since it was in the paper back in March I think. It's a shame as he would be a fantastic signing with lots of sell-on value. I'm sure he is on 'the list' along with many others. He'd be in my top 3 signings I'd love to see at the club along with Nisbet and this Niskanen boy.

Can we have the stats of goals conceded with & without Reynolds please?
I’d be interested to see them.
If I can enter the CH debate I'd like to think Reynolds & Connolly (or is it Connolly & Reynolds) are up for it for the Prem 20/21.
Not quite the last Hurrah (unless last Hurrahs are extendable) but I think R & C (or C & R) have arrived at that stage in their career where they can give it their complete all.
Why? They are seasoned, consummate professionals with a top work ethic. They are by all accounts brilliant lads to have around. They know what's in front of them & I see them continuing to build a successful CH partnership which will be vital in consolidating our status in the Prem.
So, yes, they may be past their very best but their average age is still only just over 30 & many other factors come into consideration.

In terms of the league:
he started 25 matches and we conceded 0.84 goals per game
He was on the bench for 3 matches:
The 1-0 at QOTS (when he came on for the last 15 mins)
The 0-0 away at Alloa
The 2-1 home win against ICT

I thought Connolly had his best game for us against Hibs in the Scottish Cup. Won a lot of headers and concentrated at defending whilst he didn't have time to dwell on the ball and look for a long pass. Hoping he continues this in the Premiership where he won't get as much time on the ball as he did in the championship.

Think he missed the most recent Pars game, LEK, 2-0 defeat. That would make his stats a bit better.

That would be the away game, BMT, as he missed the home fixture. Thought he struggled against better attackers as did the entire defence that night. The three second half goals lost were balls for the central defenders to win, but Doidge won them all.

Shit !
I will have to look back at the fixture list as your right it was not a good defensive display that night.
I was sure it was a home game but it has been that long since I have seen a game!

Seek ae 'a this aboot Reynolds !
But if I can add one mair thing . ...
This laboured pitty pat across the back four complete and utter SHITE that we've been playing in diddy division.
Does Robbie coach it or is it R & C's natural game ?
Anyway, in diddy division a' the shitey teams sat in an didnae press - ended up back tae Benji half the time ffs.
Premier League we're no gonnae get that liberty. Good teams are gonnae be up in our faces in our ain third.
Signings at CB a must.

Sign Nisbett. + Shankland - forces 4-4-2 on Robbie.
Got to be good.

Mind thinking if we signed Shankland we would probably win the Championship.
Feel like we need the Pars lad for sure for the Premiership.

There's barely a team in any corner of the world Shakey that DOESN'T play the ball across the back. Or across the midfield in the event of the 'move' making it to the halfway line. It is shite but everybody's doing it. Good No 10s, players who can pick a pass, unlock a defence, used to be a way out of this but they are currently at a premium. Marking has never been tighter, there's no space, so the ball has to go square (or backward) much more often than it goes forward.
A wee anecdote...I watched a Scottish Cup 4th round game live on the tele in January. I think it was a Lowland team v a 3rd tier team or suchlike, doesn't matter. Lowland team won a freekick just INSIDE the opponents' half. There are 19 players in front, congregated across the park, in or just outside the penalty box, waiting for the kick. But the taker decides to pick out the solitary right back, 35 yards to his right with a square ball. Unfortunately the square ball actually goes a yard or two behind the right back. So his next touch? - back to the goalie. I just burst out laughing. Bizarre.

Dunfermline chairman has his say...
And now Nesbit has his...
Very honest from him - wanted to leave in January and is ready for the Premiership. A bit of a 'come and get me'.
Let's do it, United. Hibs have already put their business on hold until they are back training. We need to steal a march on them. If we end up spending a little bit more than planned, so be it.
The video below is from his time at Raith Rovers. Now I know this is league 1 but have a watch and look at some of his finishes. He is absolutely clinical. A strong runner with the ball too and able to take players on. He seems to have everything you'd want in a striker. Him and Shankland would be amazing for us. Dare I say it, he (potentially) is more of the 'full package' striker than Shankland is, even if he doesnt have Shankland's predatory instincts.

He's every right to say what he has said. "Put up or shut up." I couldn't agree more
Quite right that he does this... but its definitely just to try and appease the fans and look like he is standing strong when in reality he is desperate for Asghar to get in touch with a bid.
Quotes when they released 17 players:"Unfortunately our club will not be in a position to offer new contracts at this time," Dunfermline said."As we don't know when we will be playing games again, we have no other option but to protect the future of the club itself. This has not been an easy decision to make, being aware of the impact this may have."
Then in today's article "we dont need to sell" aye sure mate. Sounds like someone we used to know...

There's a big difference, though, between speaking publicly about your own club's players, on the one hand. On the other hand, speaking publicly about players from another club.
If a manager of another club was talking to media about signing one of our players, then I imagine people on here (including myself) wouldn't take too kindly to that.
Ashgar and Neilson have said publicly that Shankland will move on at some point. But, if, for example, Steven Gerrard was to tell the Daily Record that Shankland was on his list of transfer targets, then the foam on here about using the media to tap up players would be palpable.
The Pars chairman is correct - it's disrespectful.
At least it gives us something to speak about
Offline
The fact that we made an offer for him in January seems to have been forgotten here, also the fact that the transfer window isn't even open yet. Our interest in him is clear so I don't think Robbie has spoken out of turn and it's hardly a revelation that we are still interested, and when we are actually allowed to make another offer I'm sure we will.
Offline
Don't get the disrespectful bit. Smaller teams best players will always be talked about/linked to other clubs/ on wish lists. His worry is if nobody's talking about his players.
Offline
I wouldn't be happy if Neil Lennon or Stevie Gerrard was talking about Shankland or Appere. I'd be accusing them of tapping them up. Trying to unsettle them.
I think there are ways and means and i don't understand why Robbie has changed. He has never talked about other players so openly before.
