Shame. Only just turned 16 but some size about him and looked very decent in the 45 minutes vs Sheff U. Any idea if we get some kind of development fee for the kid?

Always pisses me off when we lose talent so young but I guess we have to draw income where we can. I'd imagine there ought to be a development fee but that will relate to however long he's been with the club I'd think.
If it means we keep Shankland and sign more first team ready players for the here and now it's a price we'll have to pay.

I think we get a development fee but pretty sure united have no choice in the matter. He will have been offered a professional contract and turned it down.... and who can blame him if a premiership team came in for him.
I guess on one hand, you get the best of training facilities and are Round more players of a high standard but on the other hand, the route to first team football is a lot easier and quicker than it is in the EPL. In reality, unless hes exceptional, he won't see first team action for 4 or 5 years. Take the lad mckenna at aberdeen - stuck it out with the dons, has 16 caps and around 120 games for the dons and plenty for ayr before that.
Massively annoying that we develop players only for others to pick them up but its the way of the footballing world.

Big fish eat smaller fish.
We should be trying to nick kids from Hamilton and the like more regularly.

Get the development fee in on one hand and let it go out the other towards the amount to get Pavol , hoping his club have dropped the fee now we are near the end of the transfer window

Mellon confirms Fuchs travelling to Scotland to complete his medical and a deal is close.

It's a two-way street Tangy. It certainly wasn't McNamara, Donnelly & Jackson who developed Andy Robertson. They were too busy outwith the HPC. So Queens Park would maybe have been fizzing when we got big dosh for him. Altho I think they got a wee cut.

Nadir Ciftci signs for a Turkish 2nd tier side (wasted talent).
And James Norwood is out injured now for weeks.
So there's another two Strikers who won't have the Utd scarf above their head before Monday night.

Lets be honest here TEK neither of them 2 would have had the Utd scarf above their head this window.

Norwood definitely not, no.
Think Nads would have came back given where his career's at now. But would seem he wasn't considered.

Or wasn't interested, seems to be happy staying in Turkey. Lets face it, we seem to have had him at his best....

I'd agree with this tbh.

Think he was very much a product of the system where he was allowed free reign while surrounded by some of the best talents to play for our club in a couple decades. I've learned my lesson about wishing for former players back.
Happy with the fond memories for Ciftci.
Now...is Jon Daly still holding up a ba somewhere?

It's not really working out for him in Turkey tbh. Only at his last club what? 6 weeks?
Anyway. He won't be coming here so we move on.

Well if we're doing that, I'd like Mr Narey too 😂

Does anyone know if Fuchs has to be registered before deadline day closing time. Don’t know about anybody else but I’m getting a little bit worried about this and also the lack of hearing about anybody else. The time is racing away from us.

Thought the Fuchs deal would have been done by now...
Hopefully also working on a striker

Try suspending yourself from the ceiling by your bollocks for the next 3 days mate, you'll be amazed how long we have left 😂😂

Fuchs expected to sign over the weekend. Striker the main priority but finances mean it may go down to the wire. Would like a winger too but striker is the priority. All according to Scott Burns.

Be great if we pull Safranko out the bag at the 11th hour. With Sporle and Chalmers breaking into the team perhaps we can wait till January for a winger?

I'd be quite concerned if we didn't have a striker in by the time the window closes. Nicky Clark hasn't looked great in front of net, and we were toothless prior to Shanklands return.
I'm going to put a name out there that we've not heard in a while, what about MIkey Johnstone from Celtic? Linked in the past and I can't say I've noticed him playing for Celtic (would be lying if I said I'd looked). Can play wing and striker if memory serves.
Questions before about Celtics willingness to let him go but that's a couple years now he's been on the periphery, has to be worth a look you'd think.
EDIT: Just checked, been out injured most of 2020, due back in a week or two. Bring him till Jan for some game time IMO

I honestly would prefer someone match ready than wait weeks for him to get up to speed, just my opinion of course.

Hearing a bid for Shankland has been made and united mulling it over
Mellon replied to a question last night about shankland leaving with "we will wait and see"
