According to one of the replies Mickey tried to sign him for Tranmere so at least it is someone Mickey knows about at least and will know if he could do a decent job at United.

I've learnt a bit about Twitter now, and had a look at who Ryan Edwards follows.
Elle Brooke is an interesting one (careful!!!!!).

If we are moving to bring in a centre half this is a welcome development

Until he makes a mistake of course.

No no. I have every faith in Mellon's judgement. I'll back the manager 200%😂

Even if Connolly starts the next game?

Reporting across most papers etc today lads. Fingers crossed its done early enough to get him involved on Saturday. Although I suspect we'll revert to a back 4 this weekend.

Also a couple of rumours on Twitter that we are interested in James Norwood of Ipswich (played under Mellon at Tranmere).
The article does, however, say that Ipswich are keen to hold on to him.
Turns 30 in September so doesnt seem to fit our usual signing model. However, looks like a different type of striker to what we have already.

It's also in Ipswich newspaper. Not played since February though and has had an ongoing groin problem. Would be a good signing if free of injury but would be nowhere near match fit.

If fit, James Norwood would be an excellent signing. A proven goalscorer at a decent level (joint too scored at Ipswich prior to lockdown and injury).
However he is contracted until 2022 and a transfer fee would have to be paid. And I'm sure he will be in a decent wedge down South.
The signing would show positive intent but seems out of our price range in my opinion.

This article also has us interested in another centre back from Ipswich. Aristote Nsiala.

Not liking the way it talks about Shanks to Rangers and tbh the only way we are affording these guys is if we are moving on Shanks...

Do you honestly think the Ipswich media has inside knowledge of whether we plan to sell Shankland? It's just lazy journalism.
I also disagree strongly that we are only going to be able to afford these guys if we get rid of Shankland. Let's try having a bit of faith in the hierarchy maybe?

Obviously its early days but "theres nothing in it" was the quote from Scott Burns when asked about Shankland to Rangers. So I think for the time being we can relax about that one.

After an African centre half from Ipswich called Toto according to the papers down there, along with the boy Norwood.

I beg to differ. Guys in the Ipswich first team squad will at least be taking home what Shankland (our highest earner) does. Also Ogren is rich, but he's no JR Ewing. Our pockets don't have unlimited depth and we are not going to rolling out the dollars for boys that we don't think we can get a return on Norwood doesn't fit that bill, but maybe he does if we are desperately needing a new CF...
I agree with the lazy journalism point but lazy journalism isn't necessarily wrong unfortunately - maybe not to Rangers but to others.
