Stewart is the type of creative, attacking, goal scoring midfielder we have needed for a good few years. Im fairly sure he can play wide as well?

He carried Dundee when he was there and as far as Im aware has done decent at his clubs since.

Im a bit doubtful of this, but would definitely be happy if it happens.

The foam from Dundee fans would be good but it’s a no from me (if there’s even any truth in the rumour).

V good footballer but as his a career has proved, he’s only effective if you play to his strengths = play him central as a proper striker. He won’t get that with us as Shankland is the main man. He’s no pace to play out wide (Aberdeen tried that and mcinnes was made to look foolish). He’s too similar to Clark so why waste a big wage on an area we don’t need to plug.

Pacey wide man with a proven end product or a dominant CB for me plz

Don’t get me wrong for me the priorities are a winger or 2 and a centre half but we definitely need a striker so Stewart would be perfect

Luke Bolton the RB/RW signing on loan from Man City later today. According to the aforementioned, ever reliable Scott Burns.

Would love another signing in before Saturday too. Get the fan base buzzing and really kick off the Mellon era properly.

Even if we did sign someone this week you'd doubt they'd make the starting 11 on Saturday so any kind of news would be massively welcome.

Another forum seems dead certain that Pav is going to be bid for - thoughts on this?

Luke Bolton is interesting for a couple of recents. I don't know anything about him other than playing regularly in the championship (albeit a lower placed team).

The 2 things that stand out is (a) it's a loan and I didn't think we'd go down that route. there's no sell-on fee so doesn't fit in with other apparent business model. (b) he can play in two positions so this may explain point (a) slightly. He could be a starter out wide on the right whilst also offering cover for RB (although we do have Freeman).

Maybe covid has had a bigger impact than expected and we're taking a more flexible approach to signings. Maybe he's just really good and we couldn't say no!!
